Who am I? You'll find out soon enough. I’m only 17 years old and a university freshman. The sad thing is that I can’t do any of the fun university stuff until my birthday in about five months, which means that I’ll be stuck in my dorm on the good weekends. But it’s not like I don’t have friends to hang out. There’s also a girl I met some time back that I fell in love with. We’re not together, but I think about Sauiri all the time. She’s so beautiful and she needs a guy that’ll treat her right.

I mean, I like everything about her. Matter of fact, I'll go see her about now.

Midwestern United States- 3:15 PM

I got off of my new mountain bike in front of a Japanese-style mansion. After chaining my bike to a cherry blossom or a sakura tree, I walk up to the door, straightening my jacket and baseball hat before ringing the doorbell. A beautiful Japanese girl with green eyes answered the door and looked at me.

"Kyu?" she asked.

"Hey, Sai," I replied. "What's going on?"

"Come on in, Kyu." Sai replied.

I walked in and saw that the interior was big as well. I slipped off my shoes and took a seat on a couch in the living room when a large Newfoundland dog runs in and jumps on me. The dog started to lick my face as I petted

"Yo..hey there, Alester. How you doing, boy?"

Alester responded with a happy bark. I can't believe that he's a puppy to be that size. I pulled out a bag of dog treats and told Alester to sit, which he did. I rewarded him with a chicken-flavored treat for being such a good dog.

"Kyu, could you come here?"

I got up and went to the kitchen where Sai was.

"You like to ride?" she asked, holding a saddle.

I nodded. "Yeah."

"Wanna see my babies?"

I nodded again.

We went out to a barn where there horses were kept. One white, one black with a white diamond, and a bay horse that was instantly drawn to Sai. She opened the stable and all three horses came out.

"Pick one," Sai said.

I chose Jewl, the black horse with the white diamond while she chose the bay horse Maverick. The white one was Peter. He came with us while we rode...

Some time later, we found our way to an open field. I looked around at the grassy expansion. It was so beautiful and there was another cherry blossom tree. Sai and I sat under the tree as the horses played.

"So, Kyu...what brought you over?" asked Sai, looking at me.

I looked back into her eyes.

What was I going to say?

Then I cleared my throat.

"Well, I decided that I needed a day off the campus," I said. "And that I wanted to come see you because I have to tell you..."

Sai moved closer to me and put her arm around me.

"Tell me what?"

I thought about it and then remembered why I came.

"I came to tell you that even though you were hurt those three years ago, I want to be the one who heals your heart."

Sai looked at me, not sure what to say.

Flashback- three years ago:

A tall blonde boy walked up to Sai while she was at her locker.

"We...need to talk," the boy said.

Sai turned around.

"Yeah, William?"

"I don't think that you and I are going to work," William said. "I don't know. Maybe it's because for three years, all I thought about was getting you into bed. But what's the use of being with someone if we can't make love?"

Sai glared at him, not knowing how to react for a moment until she decided on a course of action: her fist into his face.

"Get-get the hell away from me!" Sai yelled. "You disgust me, you piece of shit. I...hate...you."

William shrugged his shoulders as he held his face and walked off, a hot Italian girl catching his eye. Meanwhile, Sai dropped her books and ran into the girls' bathroom as tears fell down her face and she began to cry. Because she thought that piece of shit loved her. Three years for nothing...

Present time:

Sai looked at me, not knowing what to say. I didn't know what to say either. I had just told a girl that I was in love with her and that I wanted to be her man. But I know what I wanted to do. From inside of my jacket, I pulled out a rose that had been de-thorned and presented it to her. Sai instantly took the rose, smiling as the traced the petals. I wasn't sure on what to do next, so I moved in close...taking Sai's hand.

"I'm sorry," I whispered before I kissed her lips.

I closed my eyes, expecting to be struck but to my surprise- when I opened them, Sai had taken off my sunglasses.

"You are so sweet, Kyu."

That was the last thing I heard from Sai's lips before she kissed me back, putting both of her arms around my neck and moving into my lap. I could not help to do anything except lock my arms around her waist as she kissed me. I broke the kiss quickly.

"I am in love with you, Saiuri Ashiro," I said with confidence. "You are exactly what I dreamed of."
