Chains

I am everywhere in chains

These chains hold me to him

Constrain my muscles

Weigh my back

These chains bind me to them

A shared pain keeps us together

These chains leave marks across my skin

Crossed lines link us

I am dragged behind my betters

in chains

Driven onwards by their mocking;

this I am bound to do

Ligatures leap across the history of my life

And will weigh it down

as it sinks in the sea of obscurity

drowned

Chains of proteins, chains of trust

I am always by Fate's hand restrained

This is life
