in the darkness she stood

a frown on her face

not knowing where she was

or what to do

she screamed for help

no-one came.

she felt around

and felt nothing

she took a step

a step off a ledge

she began to fall

to her death

and with a gasp

a whimpering cry

she woke to find

a dream, she was alive.
