Landscape

An explosion on her skin
A rainbow of puce
Paint a portrait on her body

Drunken fights
Bloody nights
And another rainbow to the collection

Scared little girls
With messy curls
A red river to her landscape

Trees that she claims
To run into a lot
Stairway from Heaven
That she falls down a lot

This landscape is ravaged
Shattered by war
Rainbows and rivers aside

Rainbows and rivers
All signs of fairyland
So why does it feel like Hell?

He is an artist
He creates this landscape
Using his daughter as canvas

Who thought pain
Could look so pretty?
Creating false beauty.

A rainbow of puce
A river of red
Her body as landscaped fairyland
Her body as landscaped Hell

A/N: Yep, yet another utterly cheery poem from me. And again going with an artistic theme. I think this may be my suppressed guilt at not having done my Art coursework. I suppose I could go and do it instead of writing poetry about it. But then again…nah.
In the meantime, why don’t you people review. Feed the starving artist. Reviews are non-fattening, and very yummy.
