Part I – Unnoticed

She sits in the back of the room

Staring out of the window

Watching the snow fall crisp and clean

The flurries sway and swirl

And she day dreams of the world

Oblivious and unseen.

Papers are passed down the rows

But she’s always missed; forgotten

A physical body always present

But hardly noticed. She’s alert

Watching, listening, screaming,

Hoping, wishing she wasn’t

Always forgotten. While inside

She’s fighting, struggling, drowning,

Fighting for a breath of air.

“Help me! Please! Someone…

anyone? Is anyone there?

…Does anyone care?”

Alone. Forgotten. Oblivious

To every soul. Every damn

Cocky, stuck up soul.

The world is a stage where

Everyone is acting; fake

Cold like Christmas coal.

A bleeding wound, open to

Infection, where the harshness

Of the world attacks.

Vulnerable, abandoned.

An old forgotten shack.

Part II – The Light

The rough waves knock her down

And slowly drag her under

While they crash on the shore

With a peaceful thunder.

The seagulls squawk

And circle the ocean

Her peers on the beach gaze

But make no motion,

Under she sinks

Deeper and deeper

Her lungs ache as she

Grows weaker and weaker.

The sunlight grows dim

Oh how she longs for that light

Bright and happy

When things were all right.

A storm rolls close

As the beachers part

A lone man stands

With a heavy heart.

Sun light returns. What’s that?

A shimmering shape

She gasps for air

A cool breeze on her face.

He holds her tightly and

Wipes her tears

A light shines bright

In her heart, through out the years.
