Not entirely sure if I was thinking of anything in particular when I wrote this; just about masks, both physical and emotional, and how they so easily and sometimes obviously decieve. But people aren't always willing to find out more about a mask.

Mask

Something hidden underneath

Something creeping in its sheath

Unknown to all who look upon

Known to only those who saw

What is hiding

And is biding

Its own time ‘till time does come

To reveal and have some fun

Is it good or is it bad?

Is it happy or is it sad?

Is it waiting now to pounce?

Or is it merely going to flounce?

Only it, and it knows why

Why it laughs at passerby

Those who stare and cast a glance

Those who see its guise by chance

They who wonder if there’s a spell

Or maybe think a curse as well

Which one, which one, will it be?

You must simply wait and see…
