Chapter 6: Dancing
After having a bite to eat, everyone sat talking for a bit. The manager soon came out and smiled out at the audience.
“Attention please!” he called, and everyone looked up at him. “Please welcome our next band, Rob Zombie(1)!” he called.
The crowd went wild and rushed for the stage. The band came out, and took their places, the lead singer stepping up to the microphone.
“Hey all! We are Rob Zombie, and tonight, we are going to play Living Dead Girl(2) for you!” he called into the mic.
The crowd cheered again, and the band smiled, and started playing. One of the guitarists stepped up to the mic and started the song off.
“Who is this irrestible creature who has an insacianable love for the dead?” he sang.
“Living Dead Girl!” they all sang together, and the music picked up.
“Oh! Jake! Lets dance!” Abi cried, jumping up and pulling on his hand.
“Dance?” Jake asked, looking at her.
“Yea…like we do.” Abi said, smiling.
“Ah, ok.” Jake said getting up and following Abi out onto the dance floor.
“Come on, Eclipse.” Shi said, heading out too.
“Kay.” Eclipse said, following.
Abi grabbed Jake’s belt loops and pulled him closer, and grinded her front against his. On stage, a girl whispered into the mic, making Abi smirk.
“What are you thinking about?” the girl whispered, moving her body with the beat of the song. “What are you thinking about?”
“Ow!” Rob said deeply. “Rage in the cage, and piss upon the stage. There's only one sure way, to bring the giant down. Defunct the strings, of cemetery things. With one flat foot, on the devil's wing.” he sang in a deep voice.
“Crawl on me, sink into me, die for me, Living Dead Girl!” the band sang together.
“I like this dancing.” Jake smiled.
Abi laughed and grinded him more, with the beat of the song. They moved together, Abi switching things up here and there, turning and grinding her behind against him. They worked together, moving with the beat of the song, and laughing. Beside them, Shi and Eclipse were also dancing, Shi grinding back into Eclipse. Eclipse moved with the rhythm of her hips, and smiling. Shi had her arms around Eclipse’s neck, and his arms around her waist.
“See, dancing isn’t that bad.” he said, smirking.
“Of course you wouldn’t think so now.” Shi replied, thrusting back again.
Abi and Jake laughed at the two, Abi slipping back around to face Jake, still grinding his front. Jake smiled and put his hands on her waist as her arms wrapped around his neck.
“Psyclone Jack, Hallucinating Hack, Thinks Donna Reed, Eats dollar bills, Gold foot machine, Creates another fiend, So Beautiful, They make you kill!” the band continued on.
A grunt escaped Jake’s lips as Abi scratched the back of his neck. Abi smirked and grinded against him more, scratching his neck at the same time.
“Abi…” Jake warned.
Beside them, Shi smirked suddenly at Eclipse, and gently trailed her claws down the sides of his neck.
“Shi…” Eclipse muttered, shivering.
Shi giggled and turned to face him. He quickly captured her lips in a kiss, Shi biting his lower lip before he pulled away.
“You are starting something.” he laughed.
Abi repeated her earlier actions, and Jake’s breath hitched in his throat.
“Abi, you’re…” he started.
“Causing problems, I know.” Abi finished with a smirk, grinding forward onto his growing problem.
Shi smiled at them, then looked up at Eclipse.
“Issues dear?” she asked.
“Just one…” Eclipse replied, through heavy breath.
The song continued on, the beat picking up a bit here and there, but returning to normal.
“What are you thinking about?” Abi whispered along with the girl as she sang again. “What are you thinking about?”
Jake gave her a ‘you know what I’m thinking’ look, causing her to smile at him.
“Ow.” he sang with Rob, as Abi started grinding him again.
She continued to grind roughly down on him, but still in tune with the beat.
“Abi…” Jake panted, looking at her.
Abi slowed in her actions, running her hand down his chest to his stomach, and stopping there, before capturing his lips in a kiss that lasted for the end of the song. When the music stopped, Abi pulled away, and was stopped suddenly. Jake grunted lightly and looked down.
“Uh oh…” Abi muttered, looking down.
“What’s wrong Jakie boy?? Cream your pants?” Eclipse teased, hugging Shi.
“NO!” Jake snapped.
“Eh, last time I checked, this wasn’t considered creaming you pants.” Abi said, pointing down to hers and Jake’s tangled Tripp pant straps.
“Put those away! You’ll scare the children!” Eclipse teased.
“Damn it! Shut up!” Jake snapped, blushing lightly.
Eclipse howled with laughter, and Adam raced forward.
“I’ll help! I’ll help!” he cried.
“Like hell you will!” Jake snapped, pushing him away.
“Reeerr!” Adam said, pretending to hiss like a cat.
Shi and Abi laughed at him. Jake untangled his and Abi’s straps and they all headed back to the table. Kyle smiled at Jake and sat forward.
“That was some pretty intense dancing there, little bro.” he teased.
“Zip it!” Jake growled.
Kyle laughed and leaned back in his chair. The manager appeared on the stage once again, smiling out at them. Everyone was immediately silent to hear this announcement, as Rob Zombie’s group made their way off.
“Ok! That was great! Now, this band has already been out on stage once, but they’ve come back for one more slow song for you couples to dance too. So, welcome once more, Rascal Flatts(3)!” he yelled.
People cheered and clapped as the country band made their appearance again. Gary, the lead singer, stepped up to the mic and smiled.
“Thanks for welcoming us back. We decided that it wouldn’t hurt playing one more song for you couples, just to calm down from that last one, so here we go.” he said, and his band started playing softly behind him. “This song is called Stand(4).” he added.
“Oh! I love this song! Come on, Kyle! Come dance with me!” Abi cried, jumping to her feet.
“Me? Why not Jake?!” Kyle asked, shocked.
“Because, I want to dance at least once with you before we leave here.” Abi said, tugging on his arm.
“But…” Kyle protested, looking to Jake for help.
“Hey, don’t look at me. You’re on your own on this one.” Jake said, holding up his hands.
“But she’s your girl!” Kyle said.
“And she wants to dance with you.” Jake replied, taking a drink of soda.
Sighing in defeat, Kyle slowly got to his feet.
“This isn’t fair.” he muttered.
“Oh stop whining. Come on.” Abi said, pulling him to the dance floor.
Adam stood and walked to Akira.
“Wanna dance with me?” he asked, holding out his hand and smiling sweetly.
“Sure, why not.” she said, smiling and taking his hand.
Adam lead her out to the dance floor, and turned to face her as she stepped up to him. Jake and Eclipse smiled at each other and watched them. Zacky suddenly appeared next to Shi and smiled.
“Dance?” he asked, holding out his hand and bowing slightly.
“Eh…er…uh…sure…I guess.” she stammered, taking his hand.
Eclipse smirked at her as she looked back, her face flushed with color. She followed Zacky out onto the dance floor, her hand in his. As they stopped and turned to face each other, Abi caught sight of them, and her jaw dropped. Kyle glanced over and his jaw too dropped open. Gary stepped up to the microphone and started the song off.
“You feel like a candle in a hurricane, just like a picture with a broken frame. Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight. But you'll be alright, you'll be alright…” he sang.
There was a tiny pause in the music and then the guitars started playing again. Abi and Kyle danced to the music, two of their hands together, with one of her hands on his shoulder and his on her side.
“Cause when push comes to shove, you taste what you're made of. You might bend, till you break. Cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad you get strong, wipe your hands shake it off. Then you Stand, Then you stand…” Gary sang loudly.
Zacky spun Shi in a quick circle before stopping her and starting their dancing again.
“So, you’re boyfriend won’t mind that I stole you for this song, will he?” he asked, smiling.
“Oh no. If he’d had a problem with it, you wouldn’t have gotten me out here.” Shi replied, smirking.
“Good.” Zacky replied, dancing in circles with her.
Kyle spun Abi in circle, and smiled as she stood on her tippy toes to allow him to spin.
“Don’t say a word.” she warned, as they resumed their dancing.
“Didn’t plan on it.” Kyle said, smiling still.
“Life's like a novel, with the end ripped out. The edge of a canyon, with only one way down. Take what you're given before its gone, start holding on, keep holding on…” Gary continued on.
“I didn’t know you could dance this well.” Abi said, smiling at Kyle.
“That’s because I don’t dance.” Kyle replied, spinning her again.
“And why’s that? You’re really good at it.” Abi commented, replacing her hand on his shoulder.
“I just don’t like a lot of people. You’re lucky you've got me here now.” he said.
Abi giggled at him and looked over to Adam and Akira. They were dancing slower than the song, basically just swaying back and forth, standing the same way she and Kyle were, but talking. Then she looked to Zacky and Shi, and smirked as he spun her several times, making Shi sway a little when she stopped.
“Cause when push comes to shove, you taste what you're made of. You might bend, till you break. Cause its all you can take. On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad you get strong, wipe your hands shake it off. Then you Stand, Then you stand!” the band sang.
Kyle smirked at Abi, since she wasn’t paying attention, and picked her up, and spun her in a circle before setting her down.
“Oh shit!” she cried, making him laugh. “What was that for?” she asked.
“I dunno.” Kyle said, shrugging.
“Bullshit.” Abi muttered, smiling.
“Every time you get up, and get back in the race. One more small piece of you, starts to fall into place…Oh!” Gary sang, smiling at Kyle and Abi.
Shi smiled Adam and Akira, then looked at Abi and Kyle, but they weren’t paying attention. Zacky wrapped his arm around her side and picked her up, spinning her, then set her back down. Shi smiled at him, and placed her hand back on his shoulder.
“Cause when push comes to shove, you taste what you're made of. You might bend, till you break. Cause its all you can take. On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad you get strong, wipe your hands shake it off. Then you Stand, Then you stand…” Gary finished singing, but the music continued on.
When it finally stopped, Zacky dipped Shi, as did Adam to Akira and Kyle to Abi. Standing the girls back up, everyone clapped for the band, who in turned bowed and smiled, before taking their leave. Zacky walked with Shi and the others back to the table, and smiled at them.
“Thanks for letting me dance with her.” he said to Eclipse.
“No problem.” Eclipse replied, nodding, as Shi sat on his lap and stole a drink of his soda.
“Kyle is a really good dancer!” Abi remarked, sitting on Jake’s lap.
“No.” Kyle said, sitting back down in his chair.
“No what?” Shi asked, smiling.
“I’m not dancing anymore. That’s what.” Kyle said.
“Aww, come on Kyle.” Jake teased.
“No!” Kyle said, looking at his little brother.
Abi smiled and kissed Jake on the lips before taking a drink of his soda.
“Well, I’m gonna go hunt down the rest of my band. You guys gonna stay for the DDR competitions up next?” Zacky asked, looking around.
“Maybe.” Shi said, looking at him.
“Haven’t got the slightest idea.” Eclipse said, looking around.
“As long as I don’t have to dance, I don’t give a shit.” Kyle muttered.
Laughing, Zacky turned to walk away.
“Alright then. See you round.” he said, heading off.
“Kay. Later!” they called after him.
