We saw animals skins in the history books;
Fifty thousand years ago
There were primal things,
Long-forgotten
Things long
Disappeared.

Fifty thousand years ago
We did not exist: we have evolved
(they say)
Into a superior thing;
We know; we are
Wise.

We slipped on animal skins,
Falling easily into a world we
(should not) know:
We know, we know
(we have gone beyond)
We have not.
