Here is a new story I thought up which I hope you guys will like.

Love of Music

Kendra and Athan met when they were 7 years old at a summer resort. They both loved to sing, which was what brought them together. They became fast friends. But then summer ends and that's the last time they saw each other. 10 years later they meet again brought back together by music but unfortunately Kendra had stopped singing right after they parted when they were younger. What caused the sudden change in his old friend? Now that he's in her school will he find out?

Chapter 1: Summertime Meetings

We are young we are free

You can run away with me

We are young, we are free

if you only believe

That everything you want is not so far away

We are young, we are young, forever.–Sung by The Moffats

Summer, it’s a time of enjoying yourself while relaxing in the sun while for some it’s a time for adventure, the beginning of a new you. A time to spend some quality time with family and friends and have some fun and get reacquainted with one another. It’s a time where children of all ages are free from school or to some ages it’s known as a prison. Giving them a break from all the homework, tests, bossy teachers and in some cases drama and time to try and recreate themselves so they are fresh and ready for the next school year to come.

“Are we there yet dad?” Seven year old Kendra Rivers called out to her father, Dave, whom was sitting in the driver’s seat of their four door Ford Escape.

Her and her older brother, Josh, were sitting in the back seat completely bored out of their minds. Wanting something to do before either one of them could explode!

“Yeah we’ve been riding in this car for like hours!” Ten year old Josh complained actually agreeing with his younger sister, “And I’m bored out of my mind!”

A light warm chuckle was heard from the passenger seat making them turn their gazes from their father to their mother.

Ruth was a warm hearted loving woman with shoulder length red hair that was so soft it was like petting a newborn puppy. Her eyes were a beautiful emerald green that would sparkle in the moonlight that could capture any man in a second, if she wasn’t already married.

The two young siblings met their mother’s green eyes while rubbing her round pregnant belly as she met her daughter’s emerald green eyes and her son’s light blue eyes.

“We are almost there you two. Just have some patients.” Ruth advised her two children as she smiled warmly at them.

Kendra was a the typical size that a seven year old girl should be height and weight with dark chocolate curly brown hair that reached the middle of her back that was soft just like her mother’s. While with Josh he had the buzz cut red hair, which was soft just like his mother’s and was the typical size for a ten year old boy.

“But this is our last summer with just the four of us right?” Her daughter pointed out in a questioning manner while leaning forward to look up at her mother, “So we have to make sure this will be no waste of time.”
“You mean so this won’t be a waste of time.” She heard her father correct her catching her attention.

“That’s what I said.” Kendra told her father confused of why he corrected her.

“Yeah but the way you said it was incorrect.” Dave preached to his daughter as he looked at her from the rearview mirror, “You said, ‘to make sure this will be no waste of time.’ But that makes no sense so I corrected you by saying, ‘So this won’t be a waste of time.’”

Dave was a tall man like six feet tall with a dark chocolate brown slightly curly buzz cut with light blue eyes just like his son. He was pretty fit for a man of his age, though it helped that he builds houses for a living.

“Argh dad!” Josh said loudly in frustration as he pressed his back against the soft seat of the car while rubbing his eyes, “We are not at school!” He stopped rubbing them to glare up at this father, “So you don’t have to correct us and lecture us about it!”
“Hey just because you guys aren’t at school doesn’t mean you can’t still learn things.” Their father pointed out to them giving them a teasing smile, “Besides Kendra needs to learn how to speak at least a little better so other people will be able to understand her.”

Josh sighed as he rolled his eyes, “Yeah I guess you are right.” He smiled teasingly at his younger sister and let out a light chuckle, “You do talk pretty badly.”
“Hey!” The young girl said loudly defensively as she glared at her older brother, “I do not!”

“Do to.” Josh argued back as he sat up straight to meet her eyes.

“Do not!”

“Do to!”

“Do not do not do not!”
“Do to do to do to do tooooo!”
“DO NOT!”
“Guys!” Ruth shouted over her children’s own shouting causing them to jerk and stop what they were doing to look over at her. She glared at them, “We could always go to Uncle Larry’s house for the rest of the summer.”
“No!” The two siblings shouted in panic as they looked at her with wide and fearful eyes.

“He’s house is so boring!” Kendra pointed out to her pregnant mother in a slight whine.

“Yeah so please! Don’t make us go there!” Josh agreed with his sister while pleading to his mother.

“Then stop your bickering and behave!” Ruth scolded her two young children with a slight glare.

Josh and Kendra quickly nodded their heads and zipped their lips not wanting the last part of their vacation to be wasted and have fun with it before school could begin.

Dave laughed out loudly at his children’s reaction to his wife’s suggestion. He smiled over at her, “You have such a way with dealing with these children.”
Ruth smiled as she let out a soft sigh, “Though it’s an insult to my baby brother but it’s an affective when it comes to these two.”

“Well if it’s really the only way then just keeping doing what you are doing, because it is working like a charm.” Her husband encouraged with a proud devious smile.

Josh and Kendra grumbled as they narrowed their eyes at their parents.

“You do remember that we are still here?” Their baby girl reminded them, “We did not vanish or anything!”
Ruth and Dave just chuckled at their daughter only to cause their son to grunt.

“Why must you guys be so mean to us?” Josh muttered out in a pout, “And you guys dare to call yourselves parents yet your threaten us like that!”
His watched his father as he chuckled before looking back at Josh through the rearview mirror, “Well one day when you are a parent you will understand of why we do what we do.”
“Doubt it.” Kendra replied before shrugging slightly, “Because Josh barely understands anything.”
“Why you!” Josh said angrily as he glared at his younger sister while giving the motion to tackle her.

“Now don’t you two dare start!” They heard their mother scold them again loudly catching their attention once again.

“Or else we will turn this car around and stay with Uncle Larry for the remainder of the summer!”
Josh and Kendra just groaned in displeasure, even though she had used that line so many times it was what always got them to quit fighting because even though they loved their uncle his house just wasn’t much fun when you are two outgoing kids like Kendra and Josh were. They became quiet silently agreeing to obey their mother’s wishes.

“Mean but always affective.” Dave replied repeating his wife’s words as he smiled at her.

Ruth chuckled lightly as she smiled brightly at her husband.

The day had struck noon as the Rivers Ford Escape pulled up into the Black Bear Resort.

“Finally!” Kendra exclaimed as she opened her car door and hopped out, “We are finally here!” Once she closed the car door she ran across the dirt parking lot.

“Kendra! Don’t got running off just yet!” Dave shouted out to her, “We still need your help!”
Kendra heard him but ignored him as she made it across the parking lot and stood in front of the rows of cabins right behind the main office. The main office was designed like the cabins. The sidings were logs with green shutters and at the front door was a wooden sculpture of a black bear with a “Welcome” sign in it’s hands with the name of the resort on the left side of the front door.

The seven-year-old then took a glimpse of the cabins. On the right side of her were cabins from small sized cabins to medium sized cabins while on the left side where medium sizes cabins to large sized cabins. In the middle of the row of cabins was a medium sized playground with a sandy shore in front of the lake.

“Whoaaaaa.” Kendra said softly in amazement as she moved her gaze from one side of the resort to the other, “This is so neat!”
“So was riding in the car this long worth the wait sweetie?” Ruth asked her little girl as she appeared behind her daughter.

Kendra looked up at her and smiled, “Yep!”

“Then don’t you find all that complaining and fighting with Josh a waste of time?” Her mother continued to ask the young girl as she carefully bent forward to meet her daughter’s eyes.

Kendra sighed softly as she frowned, “Yeah.” She looked away from her mother to look at the resort, “I guess that was silly.” She looked back at her mother meeting her eyes, “Sorry mom.”
Ruth smiled warmly before wrapping her arm around her baby’s shoulder and rubbed it affectionately, “Apology accepted sweetie.”
“Hey!” They heard the house builder shout out to the two girls catching their attention meeting his and Josh’s eyes as they began to carry some of the luggage out of the car.

“Can we please have some help?” Dave stressed out in frustration, “If I carry anymore I think my arms will fall off.”
Ruth chuckled lightly as Kendra smiled before shouting as she ran over towards her father, “Kendra to the rescue!”
“More like Kendra coming to mess things up.” Josh corrected his sister in mockery staring at her blankly.

“Hey!” Kendra shouted offensively before pointing at him with a hard glare, “You hush up you meanie!”
“Like a pipsqueak like you can make me.” Her brother replied gruffly daring her to try.

“Ohhhhh!” Kendra huffed out puffing up her cheeks in anger. She then positioned herself like she was in a boxing match and started bouncing back and forth, “You looking for a fight? I’ll gladly take you one if that’s what you are looking for!”
Josh grunted as he glared at her, “Like a little kid like you can even try and take me down.”
“Bet’cha I can!” She challenged him with her eyes narrowed, “Or are you too chicken?”
“You really are looking for a punch in the nose aren’t you?” Josh replied in distaste of the word usage she was using.

“Yeah! So come on and fight me! I can take ya!” Kendra replied with bravery.

“Kendra! That is enough!” Ruth shouted at her daughter narrowing her eyes getting quite annoyed by this.

Dave just rolled his eyes before raising his leg, since his arms were too full, and used his foot to gently push his daughter slightly. The young girl gasped sharply in surprise as she was jerked forward. Kendra whipped around to look at the culprit, “Dad!”

“Hey just be lucky I didn’t kick you right there!” Her father told her firmly before narrowing his eyes as he began to scold her, “Now how many times are your mother and I going to have to ask you to stop picking fights with Josh!?”
“But Josh started it!” Kendra defended herself loudly as she pointed at him. Josh just grunted at her comment.

“I don’t care who started it!” Dave replied loudly, “I am getting really sick of you two and your bickering. So if you two don’t knock it off this instant we will seriously pack up the car again and either end to Uncle Larry’s or back home and we’ll make you two do chores for the rest of the summer!”
“NO!” Josh and Kendra gabbed out in panic as their eyes went wide open.

“Then knock it off!” Dave repeated himself loudly causing the two to jerk making them hunch their heads down slightly.

The three were fell silent before Ruth broke the silence by clearing her throat catching her attention, “Okay now with that settled…” She motioned her arms over towards the office, “Let’s get the key to our cabin and get settled in before the sun sets.”
“Yeah once we get the luggage out of the car.” Dave reassured his wife as he shifted the suitcases in his arms in a more comfortable position.

“Wouldn’t it be easier for you to get the key first before unpacking the car?” Ruth suggested raising a brow while tilting her head, “That would take less work don’t ya think?”

Dave grumbled as his loving wife reminded him of that, he then narrowed his eyes, “Sure now you tell me.”
The pregnant woman chuckled warmly at her husband with a smile, “But you still love me.”
“Yeah but sometimes you can be such a cruel lady.”

Ruth just smiled as she shook her head before giving her darling husband a kiss getting a quick loud reaction from her kids.

“EWWWWW GROSS!” Kendra shouted crinkling her nose in disgust making it look like she could throw-up any minute.

Josh just crinkled up his face, “Yeah that was something I never wanted to witness.”
Dave and Ruth just laughed at their children’s responses before looking over at them.

“Hey one of these days you two won’t find kissing someone gross.” Dave informed them with a teasing smile, ‘Though it’s something I’m really not looking forward too.’ His gaze moved down towards his daughter, ‘Especially when she gets to that age.

“EW no kissing will always be gross! ECK!” The little seven-year-old cringed at the thought while her body jerked in disgust.

“Well actually I just find parents kissing gross in general.” Josh corrected them acting all smart, “But in reality I don’t find kissing a girl gross at all.”

“Oh no!” Kendra exclaimed loudly as she turned to face her older brother catching his stare, “You’ve already moved to the dark side! But don’t worry…” She narrowed her eyes with determination as she slowly moved towards him, “I will save you.”
“Oh no you don’t!” Josh said quickly moving away from her before glaring down at her, “I don’t need to be saved by you! Besides it’s all part of growing up you’ll have to go through it too sooner or later.”
“NO!” Kendra replied loudly and pointed at him, “I will never grow up!” She narrowed her eyes, “And I will never kiss no icky boy!”

Dave sighed in disappointment before looking over at his wife, “Is there a way for that to never happen?”

Ruth looked up at him and smiled, “Nope sorry honey. She can say this all she wants too but once she gets to that age she’ll forget all she said about boys and will want to kiss them.”
Dave groaned, “And that will be the most stressful part about being a parent.”
Ruth chuckled lightly as she began to rub the builder’s back, “Don’t worry sweetie we’ll get through it.”
“Hope so.” Dave replied meeting his wife’s gaze, “Or else I won’t be able to sleep a wink once she gets to the…kissing age.”

Minutes have passed and Kendra was now skipping down the shoreline of the lake, since her and her family were finally done unpacking the car and settling in their medium sized cabin. Josh and her dad decided to go fishing and her mother decided clean up their cabin so it was more…livable. Kendra was not in the mood to help her mother clean, since it was still her vacation and the last week to do anything fun and she didn’t want to go with her father and brother since fishing was more their thing not hers’. So she decided to just explore the resort and see what was cool and what wasn’t cool about their new vacation spot.

“Summertime summertime gotta love summertime.” Kendra sung out happily as she continued to skip along the shoreline, “You get to laugh and skip and talk and sing. Summertime summertime gotta love summertime. No one can stop you from having fun. I wish summer would never end.”
SMASH

“AHAH NO!” A distressed shout was heard causing Kendra to immediately zip her lips and jump back startled by the sudden shout.

She looked down as her heart pounded faster in fright as she looked for the source of that shout. She was surprised to see a young boy whom was kneeling on the sand. He looked to be the same age as Kendra, though she couldn’t really tell for all she knew he could be older than her. The boy had shaggy black hair which from her point of view looked like it was silk but she didn’t dare touch it considering the shout came from that boy.

The boy looked up at her revealing his baby blue eyes, which glared at her with such intensity that it could have made Kendra jump out of her skin and run for it. Just the way that boy glared at her made her just want to disappear or go hide under a rock somewhere.

“You just destroyed my sand castle!” The boy whined loudly in anger while sounding like he could cry at any second.

Kendra gasped before looking down at her feet to indeed see that she was standing in the middle of a huge sand pile.

“Oh man!” Kendra gabbed out softly as she quickly jumped out of the pile. She looked down at the boy as she brought up her fingers towards her mouth feeling her heart grow heavy with guilt, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean too!” ‘I didn’t even see him there!

“All my hard work…” The black haired boy picked up some of the sand in his hands and stared at it feeling his heart sink in sadness, “It’s all gone. I’ve been working on this for like the whole day and it’s gone!” He then growled as he glared back up at the girl before suddenly standing up dropping the sand.

Kendra jumped startled by his sudden movement. He then shouted, “And you ruined it! You were the one that destroyed all my hard work!”

“I’m sorry!” The girl brought up again loudly, “I really am sorry! I didn’t mean to!”

“Well “sorry” ain’t going to cut it!” The seven-year-old boy replied loudly with his eyes still narrowed. He looked down at his crushed sand castle and groaned and began stomping his foot in anger, “Ohh this was not suppose to happen!”
Kendra continued to stare at him in fear with a heavy heart and said softly as she lowered her head, “Sorry.”

Kendra felt so horrible for what she did. Though normally like if this were to happen to her brother, she would just point out that it was just a sandcastle. But with the way this boy reacted it seemed to her like this castle was really important to him and for that very reason she couldn’t bring herself to say something like that.

She raised her eyes a bit when she noticed something move and looked to find the boy knelt back on the sand to continue to stare sadly at his ruined creation.

I really wanted to show mom this!’ The boy thought angrily while groaning in disappointment, ‘But now I won’t be able to all thanks to that stupid girl!

Kendra continued to stand where she was part of her telling her to run for it while the other part of her was telling her to do something. She looked at him sadly, ‘He looks so sad. I can’t walk away with him looking like this. Since I’m sure he’ll tattle on me and then I would get in trouble.

She then sighed softly before kneeling down next to the boy causing him to jerk slightly as he turned his attention down at her and groaned with more irritation, “What do you want now? To destroy something else that I worked hard on!”
“No.” Kendra replied softly as she met his gaze, “I want to help you remake your sand castle. It shouldn’t be that hard right?”

The seven-year-old boy growled before quickly standing up, as he shouted, “No! I don’t need your stinking help!” He noticed the girl jerk in surprise but glared down at her, “You’ll probably just mess that up too!”
“No I wouldn’t!” Kendra defended herself loudly as she stood up, “I really want to help you!”
“I don’t want no help!” The boy repeated loudly as he clenched his fists in anger. He then whipped around facing his back towards her before shouting, “Especially not from a stupid girl like you!”

Kendra gasped as she felt her eyes beginning to stein before watching the boy as he ran away from her.

She then puffed up her cheeks in anger before screaming out while squeezing her eyes shut, “You’re the one who’s stupid!”

She huffed before whipping around to run the way she came. What was that boy’s problem? Why did he yell at her like that and call her stupid when she was only trying to make up for what she did? That’s all she wanted to do. She just wanted to help but no he goes and yells at her and goes around and hurts her.

Kendra grumbled as she made a soft sniffle, “Dumb jerk. I never want to see him again!”

“Oh you two are back already?” Ruth asked her two boys as they appeared in front of their rented cabin.

After Ruth had finished cleaning the cabin and settled their luggage in their proper rooms she decided to take out one of their folding chairs and sit out in the sun and enjoy the lake view while reading a book.

Dave sighed as he set down his fishing gear on the wooden picnic table that was next to his wife, “Yeah the fish weren’t really biting.”
“But you guys just left like an hour ago.” Ruth pointed out to him while arching a brow, “You two should have more patience than that. Especially when you two have gone fishing before.”

“Okay okay we’ll come clean.” Josh decided to speak catching the eyes of his parents. He then sighed softly while rubbing his stomach before smiling weakly at his mother, “We’re hungry.”
“Hungry?” Ruth repeated.

Her son nodded his head eagerly which just made his pregnant mother laugh, “Oh ho now that makes perfect sense.” She smirked up at her husband, “So that’s the real reason eh?”

Dave chuckled lightly while smiling weakly, “Yeah I mean we haven’t eaten hardly anything since breakfast when we left my mom’s house.”

Ruth just chuckled while shaking her head as she carefully stood up, “Okay okay I’ll go see if we have anything to eat.” She looked over at her son, “Josh go get washed up.”
“Aw mom I didn’t even touch any fish.” Josh argued.

“But you did touch some worms didn’t you?” His mother asked as she eyed him.

Josh grumbled, “Yes.”
Ruth just sighed as she pointed her finger towards the cabin, “Then go get cleaned up.”

Josh groaned in annoyance but obeyed his mother’s wishes and stomped inside the cabin. Ruth just sighed before looking back at her husband before shrugging, “Why must kids be so difficult from time to time?”
The house builder shrugged, “Who knows?” He smiled, “But you have to admit it’s actually quite fun.”
Ruth just chuckled as she walked into the cabin while bringing her book inside.

Dave just sighed before turning his head to look out towards the lake, “You know…I’m glad I thought of this.”

“Mm?” He hummed when he noticed a little figure walking over towards him. He couldn’t really tell who it was at first since the sun was shining in his eyes causing him to squint his eyes. He grunted as he held up his hand to cover his eyes from the sun he then realized that the figure was Kendra.

He gabbed, “Kendra?” ‘I thought she was inside the cabin.

Kendra stared down at the ground sulking over what happened just a few minutes ago. Not even noticing her father standing in front of the cabin.

Why do I keep thinking about that stupid castle? It’s not like I meant to smash it. So why should I feel bad about what I did? That boy was a jerk anyway.’ She wondered to herself in annoyance.

“Kendra?”

“Huh?” The young girl said finally hearing her father’s voice causing her to make eye contact with him, “Oh dad hi.”
Dave looked down at her noticing she was acting a bit odd but pushed that in the back of his mind. He placed his hands on his hips, “So where have you been all this time? I thought you were in the cabin?”
“Oh I just went exploring.” Kendra replied while pulling some of her hair behind her ear before sighing softly while lowering her eyes, “Though I didn’t get very far.”

The house builder noticed the sudden softness yet sadness in his daughter’s voice and he suddenly felt concerned, “Hey peanut.”

Kendra looked up at her father after hearing her nickname get called out watching him as he bend forward with his eyes leveled with hers.

“Is something the matter?” Dave asked gently in concern.

Kendra quickly shook her head, “No no nothing’s wrong.” She looked up at him, “I’m just fine.”

Dave sighed getting the notion that she was lying, “Then why do you look so sad?”

“Oh I’m not sad.” His young daughter reassured him with a weak smile, “I’m just tired that’s all.”

Dave shook his head as he gave her an all knowing look, “Sorry not buying it kiddo.”
Kendra flinched at her father’s response before complaining, “But I’m not lying! I’m really not sad!”
“Kendra I’m your father, I’ve known you since you were just a little baby.” Her father began to lecture as he looked her straight in the eyes, “And I know when something is bothering you and right now something is indeed bothering you.”
The seven year old just stared at him astound by what he told her, ‘Man is dad smart.

“So…” She heard her father speak again snapping her out of her thoughts to watch him as he tilted his head, “Mind telling me what’s wrong?”

Kendra groaned softly in defeat, “Okay…I’ll tell you.” She stared at her father, “I guess something really is bugging me.” ‘Though I don’t know why. He’s just a stupid boy.

“Okay.” Dave replied before sitting down on Ruth’s folding chair. Once he was settled in the chair he picked up his baby girl and placed her on his lap. He then met her cute little green eyes, “Now tell me what is bothering you.”
“Okay I was walking near the lake singing. You know that little song I sung to you when school ended?” Kendra began her little tale.

“Yeah you mean that summertime song?” Dave responded, “And you mean sang peanut not sung.”
“Dad! You can’t go and correct me when I’m spilling my guts out to you!” Kendra scolded her loudly.

Dave chuckled lightly, “Sorry peanut.” He cleared his throat as he waved his hand slightly towards her, “You may continue.”

“Anyway as I was saying…” His seven year old began again while rolling her eyes before looking back at him, “So I was walking while singing that song but then I accidentally stepped into someone’s sand castle.”
“Oh sounds like you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings like you should have.” Her father concluded in a soft scolding manner.

“I know dad you don’t have to keep reminding me.”

“Well I might have to until you start paying attention to what’s around you.”
Kendra narrowed her eyes, “Do you want me to explain or not?”
Dave just stared at her before shaking his head, ‘This girl is just like her mother.’ He sighed, “Sorry please continue.”
“I tried to apologize to him but-”

“Whoa wait! Him!?” Dave brought up as he arched a brow, “This someone was a boy?”

Kendra nodded confused to why he would bring that up, “Yeah.”

Dave groaned in distaste, ‘Oh great her first encounter with a boy that wasn’t at school! That can’t be a good sign.

“So even though I tried to say I was sorry and I even tried to help him remake his sand castle. But he just yelled at me saying he didn’t want my help and then called me stupid!” Kendra finished while puffing up her cheeks on the stupid part.

“Ohh I see.” Her father responded while nodding before beginning his lecture, “Well some boys are a bit protective over things like that.” He smiled, “Like I remember when I was eight and I built my first birdhouse with my dad. I so proud of what we created that I just had to bring it to school to show to my class. Man was that thing a beauty and what made me so proud of it was because it was something that your grandfather and I made together. You grandfather was such a busy man with taking care of four kids and what not. So that birdhouse was really special to me.”
“Uh dad?” Kendra interrupted her father’s lecture while snapping him out of his little world.

She arched a brow, “What does this have to do with that boy’s castle and him calling me stupid?”
“Getting right to that peanut.” Dave reassured her as he waved a finger in front of her with a smile, “As I was saying I brought that birdhouse to my school to show my class but one of my classmates accidentally broke it.”

“How?” Kendra asked as she tilted her head, “How did this person break something like that? It’s made of wood.”

“Things that are made of wood can break. But of course some of the glue was still drying so the birdhouse wasn’t really that stable.”
“Stable?” Kendra repeated confused by the word. Dave sighed, “Some of that wood could have fallen off at any point during the time I brought it to school.” He tilted his head, “But two my classmates were housing around my desk and one of those students pushed one of them into my desk knocking the birdhouse onto the floor smashing it.”
“Ohh you must have been so mad. I know I would.” Kendra replied sympathizing with her father.

“Yeah I was pretty upset with that person. For almost the whole school year.” Her father admitted before letting out a soft sigh, “But what made me upset was that this kid ruined something that was really important to me because my father helped me make it.”

Dave began combing his fingers through his daughter’s hair tenderly, “So maybe the reason why that boy was so mean to you was because you may have destroyed something that was extremely important to him. Maybe his father or someone important to him helped him create it and he was just looking at it or adding something to it to make it more special.”

“But I didn’t mean too!” Kendra defended herself loudly looking at her father with guilty eyes, “I didn’t mean to hurt him honest!”
“I know kiddo.” Dave told her softly as he leaned his forehead on hers’, “But that boy doesn’t. Which means you’re going to have to prove to him how sorry you were and you meant it.”
“But how can I do that when he hates me and probably doesn’t even want to talk to me?” The young girl asked.

“I’m sure we can figure something out and I doubt he hates you.” He reassured her before smiling softly, “If you really were trying to make things right I’m sure he’ll come around. You just have to give him sometime to cool his jets.”
“You really think so dad?” Kendra asked unsure of his answer.

“Well you won’t know until you try.” Her father advised her, “So tomorrow you and I will search for this boy and we’ll try talking and reasoning with him, okay?”

Kendra groaned not really liking the sound of that.

Dave just sighed as he stared down at his daughter, ‘Oh why did this day have to come? She’s only seven and she’s already having problems with a boy!’ He groaned, ‘Man her teen years are going to be tough I can already see it now.

A young girl who looked to be about ten laid on a soft comfortable couch in the living room while reading a Cosmo magazine with her mid-length blonde hair on the arm of the couch.

“Oh that dress looks so cute!” The girl said proudly with a smile as her chocolate brown eyes scanned the page. ‘Maybe I can ask mom and dad if I can get it?’ She suggested to herself.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the screen door open and jerked when it slammed shut.

She looked over towards the door as she spotted the black haired boy stomping over towards the living room with his eyes narrowed.

The girl grunted as she narrowed her eyes, “For once will you stop slamming the door like that!? Or you will break it making mom and dad have to pay for it!” She looked back down at her magazine, “And trust me mom and dad will not be happy about that.”
“Shut up Leena!” The young boy yelled out angrily as he glared up at his older sister.

Leena jerked at his sudden shout and snapped her attention over towards him. She then noticed the sudden tenacity in her younger brother’s body language and knew that he was upset.

She sighed while rolling her eyes, ‘Great another famous Athan temper tantrum.’ She then glared at him, “Will you chill out Athan or I’ll slap ya right across the face!”

“You can’t do that!” Athan shouted angrily, “Only mom and dad can do that!”
“Oh but they will if you don’t calm down!” The ten-year-old pointed out to him.

“I will not calm down!” The young boy shouted out while squeezing his eyes shut before plopping down on a wooden rocking chair, “I hate girls!”

Leena stared at her younger brother watching him as he huffed and crossed his arms as he glared down at the floor, “Girls are such jerks!”
“What’s with all the yelling in here?” A gentle voice was heard approaching the living room catching the attention of the bickering siblings.

There stood a woman by the name of Jane Wilson with middle length dark black hair much like her son’s and had her son’s beautiful baby blue eyes. She was a medium sized woman with her hands on her hips staring down at her children.

“Your father and I were taking care of Cody’s scratch.” Jane explained to the young ones.

“I wasn’t the one yelling.” Leena defended to her mother as she pointed over towards the seven-year-old boy, “Athan was the one that was yelling. I was just trying to get him to calm down.”
Athan glared over at his sister, “Liar liar pants on fire!”
The older girl returned her brother’s glare, “How am I lying when you were the one that had been shouting this whole time?”

The younger boy just grumbled at his older sister. “Athan?” He heard his mother’s soft voice speak up catching his attention up at her watching her as she knelt down in front of him.

“What’s wrong dear?” She began rubbing his shoulders tenderly, “What has gotten you to be such a grump?”
Athan groaned before beginning his little tale, “I was out by the lake making my sand castle and when I was almost done…” He narrowed his eyes as he began to huff, “This…this girl comes and smashes it! Totally destroying it!”
“A sand castle?” They heard Leena speak up catching their gazes as she arched a brow, “You are getting all worked up over a stupid sand castle?”
Athan gabbed before glaring at her before suddenly standing up shouting, “It’s not stupid!”
“Uh yeah it is considering you are getting upset about something that can easily be remade.” The ten-year-old pointed out to her younger brother.

Athan growled at his older sister. “Did she mean to do it?” His mother spoke up catching his attention as she tilted her head at him saying softly, “Did this girl mean to destroy your castle?”

The young boy narrowed his eyes, “Ye-”

I really am sorry! I didn’t mean to!”

He stopped in mid-sentence when he remembered what the girl told him and closed his mouth as he lowered his head before responding softly, “She…she did say sorry.”

“Then you must have overreacted sweetheart.” Jane pointed out to her son.

“But how do I know she wasn’t lying!?” Athan brought up loudly as he raised his head to look his mother in the eyes, “She could have meant to and she was just telling me that as a way to trick me!”
“How did it seem to you Athan?” Jane asked him, “And tell me honestly.”
The young boy blinked before lowering his head as he began to think thinking back to Kendra and how she reacted to the situation.

He sighed as he glanced away from his mother, “I guess she sounded like she meant it.” He picked up his gaze to look at Jane, “She even wanted to help me remake it.”

Jane smiled softly glad to know that her son is thinking through this, “Then you did overreact.”
Athan sighed lowering his eyes again suddenly feeling guilty, “Yeah I guess I did.”
“And all over a stupid sand castle.” Leena brought up again while shaking her head.

Athan glared at her. “That’s enough Leena.” Jane spoke up catching her son’s gaze again as his mother’s gaze glared over at the older girl.

“But mom even you have to admit that’s a pretty lame thing to get all upset about.” Leena defended herself.

Jane sighed softly as she turned her attention back down at her son, “Yes I’ll admit that was a bit unlike you Athan. Getting all upset over someone doing that. Usually that doesn’t bother you so why are you now getting all worked up about it?”

Athan sighed softly, “I made the sand castle for you mom.”

“Me?” Jane repeated surprised by his answer. She tilted her head, “You…made that sand castle for me?”

Her young son nodded, “Yeah. You were the one that taught me how and I just wanted to show you that I could do it.” He lowered his eyes sadly, “And I worked so hard on it and just seeing that girl step on it just made me mad.”

Jane stared down at her son before smiling affectionately at him as her heart began to feel warm, “Oh sweetie.” She began combing her fingers through his hair getting him to look up at her, “That is so sweet.”
“I mean I wanted to do something nice for you since you have been sick.” Athan continued is explanation.

Jane arched a brow, “Sick? What gave you the impression that I was sick?”
The young boy looked over at his older sister, “Leena.” Leena jerked when he mentioned her name. Athan looked back up at his mother, “Leena told me you have been sick a lot lately and I just wanted to help make you feel better.”
Jane stared over at her only daughter who hunched down a bit before hearing her mother sigh softly and watched her as she turned her stare down at her son.

She gave him a small smile as she brushed some of his hair away from his eyes, “Thank you sweetie. That makes me feel so much better.”
“It does? But I didn’t even get to show you it.” Athan reminded her sounding shocked that not seeing it made her feel better.

Jane just smiled, “I don’t need to see it. Just knowing that you went through all that hard work to help me feel better is all the medicine I need to get better.”
Athan then smiled, happy that he was able to make his mother happy.

“But you’re still going to have to apologize to that girl.” He heard his mother speak up again.

“What!?” He gabbed out, “Apologize!?”
Jane nodded, “Yes you overreacted when you shouldn’t have. You were in the wrong Athan, even though it was with good reason, you still did a bad thing by yelling at that girl when she never even meant to hurt you. In other words you have to apologize.”
Athan groaned, “Do I really have to mom?”

“Yes you do.” Jane replied softly but with her voice nice and firm.

A sigh was heard over towards the stairs, “Well…” Jane, Athan and Leena looked over towards the cabin stairs to find a man looking to be a very tall man with light shaggy blonde hair and had his daughter’s chocolate brown eyes. A four-year-old rushed over towards his mother. “Mommy!” The four-year-old was a mixture of Jane and the man he had his father’s light blonde hair with his mother’s baby blue eyes.

“Cody’s scratch is all bandaged up.” The man informed his family mainly his wife, “So he should be good.” He gave his son a stern look. “Unless he does it again.”

Cody gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry dad it won’t happen again!”
Jane chuckled as she snuggled his nose. “Don’t go making promises we know you won’t keep.”

Cody chuckled, causing her to smile warmly.

“Mom?” She heard her son speak up making her look down at him meeting his eyes. “I’m hungry.”

“Hungry?” Jane repeated her son’s answer.

Athan nodded, “Yeah.”
“Yeah I’m hungry too.” Leena agreed with her brother while setting the magazine down on the coffee table.

“Yeah me too!” Cody joined in.

“Heh two actually no it’s three against one hun.” Her husband spoke up with a light amused chuckle.

Jane looked up at him as he smiled and sighed, “Well I’m not really in the mood to cook so why don’t we go out tonight. Is that okay with you Kevin?”

Kevin hummed while tilting his head slightly in thought before focusing back on his wife, “Yeah I guess we could. I’m in the mood for going out anyway.”

Athan and Leena smiled, “Yeah we are too!”
Jane chuckled lightly as she turned her attention from her children to her husband and baby boy, “Then why don’t we go to the restaurant where they have the karaoke stage.”

“Yeah!” Athan exclaimed smiling with excitement, “I love that place!”
Kevin chuckled, “Well looks like we have a winner.”

Athan and Jane chuckled as Leena rolled her eyes.

Loud music was heard as Ruth, Dave, Josh and Kendra stepped inside a club like dinner.

“Whoa.” Josh and Kendra said softly in awe.

The dinner was a pretty decent sized place with a dance floor in the middle with a wooden stage behind it with two microphones and speakers. The lights on the dance floor changed to many different colors to give the dinner a different feel to it. On the outside of the dance floor were the tables and booths. The place was pretty crowded though it only looked like it was considering practically everyone in the dinner were dancing on the dance floor.

“Oh this is so cool!” Kendra exclaimed softly as she smiled with excitement.

“Where did you hear about this place?” Ruth asked her husband catching his eyes.

“I heard about it from a couple of the people at the resort.” Dave informed her while giving a little shrug, “And I figured since there isn’t any food in the cabin yet that we could check this place out before we go grocery shopping.”
Kendra stepped a bit forward to get a better look at the place and from the corner of her eye she noticed an empty booth that was almost near the wooden stage.

She gasped happily before quickly grabbing her father’s hand catching his and Ruth’s attention.

“Over there!” Kendra told them loudly over the music as she pointed over towards the booth, “Let’s go sit over there!”
“Wow this place has gotten a bit more crowded since we were last here.” Leena pointed out to her family as they got themselves seated at a booth on the right side of the dinner.

“Yeah it is.” Jane agreed with her daughter softly looking out towards the crowd before looking over at her husband, “Maybe we should go and find someplace else to eat.”

“I want McDonalds!” Cody voiced in his opinion while raising his arm up.
“No!” They heard Athan shout out sounding like he would panic at that moment.

Kevin and Jane and his older sister looked over at him.

“I want to stay here!” Athan began to plead to his parents, “I love this place!”
“But this place is packed.” Leena reminded her younger brother.

The young boy glared at her, “It ain’t that crowded!” He looked back at his parents, “I’m in the mood to sing today! So please!” Athan gave them the puppy eyes and puckered out his lower lip, “Please! Can we stay here?”
Jane and Kevin looked at each other as their son pleaded to stay. They then sighed out a chuckle before smiling as they looked back at him.

“Okay Athan we’ll stay.” Kevin replied giving into his son’s request.

“Yes!” Athan exclaimed loudly as he threw up his fist in victory.

“Ladies and Gentlemen!” A loud male voice was heard as the song came to an end, “Boys and Girls!”
The audience on the dance floor and in the booths looked up towards the stage. A medium sized skinny man with grayish black hair with glasses stood in the middle of the stage with a microphone up towards his mouth.

“Who’s he dad?” Kendra asked her father in a soft whisper whom sat next to her.

Dave looked down at her, “I’m guessing he’s the boss.”
Kendra took in what her father told her before looking back up at the man.

The man smiled, “Now it is time for Karaoke!”
The crowd cheered as Athan lifted up his fist in satisfaction. Kendra smiled brightly in excitement, “Karaoke!?”

The man glanced around the room, “So if you have the guts you can come up here and show us that wonderful voice you have!”
Athan and Kendra both smiled proudly as they quickly hopped out of their booths and ran up to the stage.

“I will!” They both shouted out as they hopped onto the stage with one arm raised in the air as they smiled up at the man.

“Well lookie here.” The man said in the microphone with an amused smile, “We have to young volunteers.”
That’s when the two seven year olds finally took notice of each other. Once their eyes made contact they immediately gasped before pointing a finger at one another as they shouted, “You!”
“What are you doing here!?” Athan asked the girl loudly letting the anger be heard in his voice as he glared at her.

“Uh I’m here to eat with my family duh.” Kendra replied in a matter-of-fact tone as she crossed her arms while glaring at the boy.

Athan groaned angrily.

“Oh so I take it you two know each other.” The skinny man spoke up catching the youngsters’ attention.

“Yeah.” Athan admitted as he glared back at Kendra, “But not in a good way.”
“Argh! Don’t tell me you are still mad about that!?” Kendra asked him loudly in slight disappointment, ‘I was hoping he would have forgotten about that!

“Of course I’m still mad!” Athan responded loudly, “You smashed my sand castle!”
“That’s the girl that destroyed his sand castle?” Leena repeated her brother’s words with slight shock. She arched a brow in confusion, “But she doesn’t look like that she would even hurt a fly.”
Jane sighed and stood up and began walking towards the stage.

“That’s the boy that Kendra was talking about?” Josh asked before looking over at his mother, “The one that yelled at her?”
Ruth looked at him, “That’s the way it sounds like.”
Dave groaned before moving out of the booth catching his wife and his son’s attention, “Guess it’s time to work this whole thing out with him.” ‘Even though I’m not really looking forward to this. Since this could lead to something that I will not like.

“How many times am I going to have to say I’m sorry!?” Kendra asked Athan loudly ignoring the stares from the audience, “I mean what I say! I really am sorry!”
Athan grunted still holding his glare on her before snorting as he turned slightly away from her with his arms crossed.

Kendra sighed in disappointment, “Why must you be such a jerk?”

The boy flinched slightly before glancing back at her. He narrowed his eyes, “I’m not the jerk! You are!”
“How am I a jerk when I’m the one trying to say I’m sorry?” The brown haired girl asked him sounding like she could cry at any moment. The guilt was bad enough but having the person not accept your apology even when you truly mean it is even worse, at least in Kendra’s point of view.

“Oh smart comeback.” Leena praised the young girl while nodding her head in approval.

Athan just stared at her. “Athan.” His body jerked suddenly at the woman calling out his name.

He looked over to the side as his mother walked up to the side of the stage with her arms crossed.

She narrowed her eyes, “Apologize.”
Athan groaned in distaste, “But mom-”

“Hey I have an idea.” They heard the owner speak up again catching their gazes.

He smiled as he handed Kendra the mike he had and then pulled the other one out of it’s stand and gave it to Athan.

The two seven year olds stared down at their mikes before looking up at the skinny man confused of what he was trying to do.

“Why don’t you two make up by singing?” He suggested, “Since some people say music can cure just about anything.” He tilted his head down at them still smiling, “Even a fight.”

“What!?” Athan and Kendra gabbed out loudly with wide eyes before looking at one another.

Athan then narrowed his eyes before snorting as he turned completely around facing his back towards her, “No way am I singing with her! She’ll probably just mess up the song anyway!”
Kendra gabbed offensively before huffing up her cheeks as she argued loudly, “No I wouldn’t!”
Josh growled softly as he glared up at the boy, “Man is that boy as stubborn as an ox! Why can’t he just accept her apology and move on?”
Leena sighed in frustration as she shook her head, “Why must my little brother be such a brat sometimes?”

Cody just stared up at his older brother while Kevin just shook his head.

Athan just grunted before glancing back at her, “Besides I doubt she can sing anyway.”
Kendra huffed in anger as she glared at him, “Why you!”
“Athan!” Jane spoke up loudly in a scolding manner catching her son’s attention yet again.

Her glare became very stern, “Don’t be rude!” She then tilted her head towards Kendra, “Now apologize!”

“No!” Athan replied loudly as he returned his mother’s glare.

Kendra groaned softly as she frowned, ‘Why is he being just a jerk? I mean I’m saying I’m sorry and everything! Why won’t he accept it?

“Kendra.”

“Huh?” Kendra said suddenly as she was snapped out of her thoughts as she heard her name being called out.

She looked behind her as Dave approached the stage, “Dad?”

“Don’t give up keep trying to work things out with him.” Dave advised his daughter softly before giving her a stern look, “But calmly.”
Kendra groaned again not liking her father’s response, ‘But I don’t know how to work this out.’ She looked down at her mike, ‘Especially when he won’t even accept my sorry.

She continued to look down at the mike and then took in what the owner suggested to them. The young girl then narrowed her eyes with determination and looked up at Athan, “I’ll show you!”

Her response caught the young boy’s attention as she pointed at herself, “I can too sing and I can prove it!”
Athan just snorted, “Yeah right.”
“I can!” Kendra replied with her eyes still narrowed before looking up at the owner, “What songs do you have?”

“Oh here.” The owner replied as he took out a list of songs from his pocket and handed it to her.

She took the piece of paper from him and began to read it as much of it as she could.

Kendra smiled when she spotted a song that she knew. She looked up at the man still smiling as she pointed down at the paper and showed him the song, “This one.”
“That one?” The owner repeated as he turned his gaze from the paper to the girl.

Kendra nodded, “Yeah I know that song very well.”
The owner chuckled as he took the paper from the young girl and straightened up his stance, “Okay I’ll get that going for you.”
Kendra nodded as the owner walked off the stage. She turned to face the crowd as Athan snorted, “I bet you picked a dumb song.”

Kendra snorted as she glared at him, “Just watch.”

Just as she said that the music began playing.

(Song: Do Wah Diddy Diddy Sung By: The Moffats)

She took in a deep breathe and began, “There he was just walking down the street, singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, snapping his fingers and shuffling his feet, singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.”

“Whoa!” Leena gabbed out as she stared up at the girl before smiling, “Nice voice.”

Josh smirked proudly, “That should make that boy drop to his knees.” Ruth just chuckled at her son’s remark.

Athan’s eyes went wide as he watched Kendra continue to sing but this time to started to move around with the song, “He looked good, looked good. He looked fine, looked fine, he looked good, he looked fine, and I nearly lost my mind.”

Kendra glanced at Athan and smirked when he saw his jaw had dropped slightly, “Before I knew it he was walking next to me singing, do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do. Holding my hand just as natural as can be, singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
Dave smiled, ‘That’s my girl.

Kendra continued to glance at Athan who stood there completely shocked of what he was hearing.

She…she really can sing!?’ He thought astounded by the girl. At that moment he suddenly felt drawn as the music continued to play and he slowly began to smile.

Kendra took another breath before going for the next verse when Athan hopped in, “We walked on, walked on, to my door, my door, we walked on to my door, then we kissed a little more.

Kendra turned her head to look at him and was surprised to find him smiling as he kept his stare on her, ‘He…he just sang. Is…is that good?

Wo-o-o-oh I knew we were falling in love, yes I did and so I told her all the things that I’d been dreaming of.” He pointed at himself as he stepped a bit closer to Kendra startling her a bit causing her to take a step back, “Now we’re together nearly every single day.

As he sung his verse Kendra stood there shocked that he was actually singing with her. Was it a good thing? She couldn’t tell but for some odd reason her stomach was turning feeling like it could fly away at any given moment. The music mixed with his voice was drawing her more into the song wanting more it made her feel…so good. Though it felt good before but with his voice mixed with it-it was even better.

Kendra then slowly smiled as he finished his verse before deciding to join in with him, “Singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, we’re so happy and that’s how we’re going to stay, singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.

Jane smiled warmly, “Well would you look at that.”
Dave continued to smile, “Looks like the music really is working.”

I’m his.” Kendra sang with some of her version smiling at the crowd as she pointed to herself.

I’m hers’.” Athan sung out throwing out his fist to the crowd.

He’s mine.”

She’s mine!

I’m his.
She’s mine.

Wedding bells are gonna chime!” Athan and Kendra sung out together as they turned their gazes to meet the others’, “Wo-o-o-oh I knew we were falling in love, yes I did and so I told her all the things that I’d been dreaming of.”

Dave grunted as they sung that, ‘Uh oh that’s not a good sign.

Now we’re together nearly every single day.” Kendra continued to sing as she begun tapping her foot still staring at Athan, “Singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, we’re so happy and that’s how we’re going to stay, singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.”

I’m his.” “I’m hers’!” “He’s mine.” “She’s mine!” “I’m his.” “She’s mine.
Wedding bells are gonna chime!” The two sung out together before the music played by itself for a moment.

Kendra and Athan smiled at one another before singing their last verses, “Singing do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do!”

Once they finished the crowd cheered while clapping their hands.

“Oh that was so good!”

“To imagine they are just kids!”
Kendra and Athan’s family’s clapped their hands as they smiled at the seven-year-olds.

“Those two were amazing!” Leena exclaimed proudly.

“They did have quite the chemistry didn’t they?” Kevin asked his daughter smiling at her proudly.

Leena looked at him and nodded, “No kidding.”

Josh whistled, “Yeah that’s my sister! Whoohooo!”

Athan and Kendra smiled proudly at the audience feeling their hearts beat with excitement loving the praises that they were hearing from the crowd.

Singing is so much fun!’ Kendra concluded to herself with a smile.

Kendra took that chance to look over at the boy remembering the real reason for her doing this. Just as she looked at him at that moment took that chance to look over at her as well.

The two stared at each other not really knowing of what to say. Kendra hoped that Athan would finally forgive her for what she did and Athan was trying to figure out just what happened. Before she began to sing he was angry with her, even if she didn’t mean to destroy what he had worked so hard on, but then once she began to sing and his anger suddenly lowered it’s walls making him forget his own anger.

He then groaned as he lowered his eyes a bit still staring at the girl across from him, ‘Maybe Leena was right. Me getting mad about the sandcastle was pretty stupid.’ He raised his eyes slightly to make contact with hers’, he then smiled before holding out his hand startling the girl a bit, “Athan.”

Kendra stared down at his hand before looking up at him surprised by his sudden action.

“I’m Athan Wilson.” The young boy repeated his name in a much more friendlier tone than before.

She was shocked by the sudden friendly tone, ‘Does this mean what I think it means?’ She looked back down at his hand and stared at it not really knowing of what to make of this.

“He’s actually apologizing!?” Leena gabbed out in shock but then grunted as she leaned her back against the seat, “Or is he not?”

“I think he might.” She heard her father reply making her look at him, “He knows better than to let this go without being resolved.”
“Well you never know with him.” The young ten-year-old reminded him as she let out a soft sigh.

“Come on Kendra take his hand.” Ruth encouraged her daughter softly praying that she would.

Jane and Dave watched their son and daughter as they stood there as Kendra lifted up her gaze again to stare at Athan. She looked at his smile and as strange as it was when he smiled it felt sincere and she felt…reassured.

Kendra then slowly smiled before taking the boy’s hand and shook it, “Kendra, Kendra Rivers.”

Athan smiled with satisfaction as they separated their hands.

“So does this mean you forgive me?” Kendra asked the boy sounding hopeful.

Athan sighed, “Yeah…I guess it does.”
Kendra gasped happily as she lifted up her fist, “Yes!” ‘Now the guilt will die down which is what I wanted in the first place.

Athan tilted his head, ‘She did say sorry…a bunch of times so I guess she really didn’t mean to smash my sandcastle. But besides all that…’ He just smiled at her, ‘She doesn’t really seem…all that bad, at least not anymore.

“Oh thank goodness.” Jane said to herself in slight relief, ‘I thought I may have had a fight on my hands.

Dave sighed smiling in satisfaction, ‘Good she worked things out.’ He then groaned as he began to rub his forehead, ‘Oh man I just helped her become friends with a boy! What have I done!?

“That was marvelous you two!”

Kendra and Athan looked up towards the owner of the dinner as he approached with a warm proud smile.

“You have this crowd really going.” He continued to praise them as he wrapped one arm around their shoulders.

“Would you two be willing to sing one more time?” The skinny man asked them slightly hinting that he wanted them to sing some more.

“Um…” Kendra began as she turned her gaze from the older man to Athan catching his eyes, “I don’t know.” She tilted her head, “Would you Athan?”

“Mmm.” Athan hummed as he rubbed his chin while beginning to think which didn’t take him too long. Once he made up his mind he smiled at Kendra and nodded, “Yeah I’m in if you are.”

Kendra then smiled warmly and nodded, “Yeah I’m in!”

Ruth smiled warmly up at her daughter and the new boy, ‘Imagine what music can do to certain people. Considering it turned these two arguing kids into friends maybe…’ She tilted her head, ‘Even best friends or even into something more. But I could be wrong as well.
