the smell reminds of something important to me - once upon a time

now, a bitter irony of a mask called salvation;

beneath the Italy sun, father drew and mother sang

next to the sea ; we blamed ourselves.

brother, in the darkened alleys, hid

his crimes blossoming like the rose forever untouched

whilst he promised me beneath the wide stars

that he shall gain atonement.

author's note: inspired by a picture titled flaming june. if you google it, then you should be able to find it. enjoy it.
