New Generation

Chapter 2

"Diana! Diana!" The boy with tan skin and blonde hair yelled into the trees. His twin sister appeared swiftly, glaring at him with silver eyes behind her sunglasses.

"Yes Luke?" She asked, her tone sickly sweet.

"We're going to miss the bus." He told her, slightly annoyed. Diana sighed, defeated.

"The coming of noisy and irritating friends arrives, yet again, all too quickly." She closed her eyes. "At least it's Friday."

"I thought you were friends with Andrea." Luke said, perplexed.

"I am, but silence and solitude are my favorable choices." Replied Diana, as she started walking. They were silent for a long while down the road when Luke noticed his sister was holding her bow and her quiver was strapped across her chest.

"No weapons at school, Dia." He said tauntingly and Diana scowled.

"No problem, Lucius."

They were near the end of the road and were passing a tree stump. Diana paused and walked over to the moss covered stump. Quickly she pried off a section of the top part of the stump, revealing an empty space where she placed her bow and arrows.

"You never cease to amaze me." Luke said, shaking his head dubiously.

"I was born to amaze." Diana smiled smugly at him before running off. "We're going to miss the bus!" She yelled over her shoulder. Luke sighed before running after his sister.

As they approached the school a girl with her brunette hair in a ponytail detached herself from the crowd and approached the twins.

"Hey Diana!" She greeted, raising her hand.

"Morning Drea." Diana replied, raising her own hand to grasp Andrea's. "So how'd you do?"

"First place, of course." Her friend said proudly.

"What else could someone expect from the fencing team captain?" Diana asked, mock praise in her voice.

"Nothing." Andrea said, releasing their hands. "Come on, let's get in-" They were too late and were already being shoved around.

"Move it losers!" Called a smug voice.

"She said move!" A high pitched voice yelled at a bunch of students, who scattered instantly.

"Here comes the queen." Murmured Luke from behind the two girls.

"More like the nightmare." Andrea muttered.

"Coming through!" The head girl of the clique shoved her way past Andrea, Diana, and Luke.

"Watch it Lani!" Snarled Diana.

"Why should I, freak?" Lani spat. Diana made to take a step forward but Luke put a hand on her shoulder and shoved her forward.

"Cool it." He whispered. Andrea looped arms with Diana and the two walked off.

"Sister troubles?" Asked a pale boy who walked up next to Luke.

"Hi Ed, yeah. Diana is a delicate girl, but she doesn't show it. It's so hard to live with her." Luke replied.

"Give her time, not all girls are easy to figure out." Ed said. Luke let out a slow whistle.

"I don't think any girls are easy to figure out. Plus she and I are exactly opposite." He complained as they walked into the school building.

"How so?" Ed asked.

"She likes the night; I like the day. Her hair is black; my hair is blond. I'm tan and she's super pale. I hate silence; she prefers it. Complete opposites." Explained Luke as they emptied their things into their lockers.

"Well I'm an only child, so I can't really help." Ed said calmly.

"By the way, how'd the swim meet go?"

"Perfect, the other team is so slow! I didn't even have to try." Ed grinned.

"Break any records?" Asked Luke.

"I said I wasn't trying very hard. We'd better go or we'll be late." Luke looked up and noticed the hall was fairly empty. He hastily shoved the rest of his things into his locker, shut the door, spun the dial, and started walking with Ed to their first period.

A boy was walking around the campus, his eyes on the ground his feet were walking on. He had heard the bell ring but didn't care. Then he noticed another boy sitting in the shade of a tree.

"You skipping too?" He asked. the other boy looked at him.

"Who're you?" The boy asked rudely.

"Sam, and you are?"

"Thantos." The boy said.

"Boys! Get over here and get to class!" A teacher yelled. Thantos sweared and got up from his shade, putting on a pair on sunglasses. The two walked, with deliberate slowness, toward the angry teacher.

"I hope you know that you'll be getting a wek's detentions." She told them. The boys shrugged and continued walking. Suddenly another boy was just walking around the corner and almost ran into the teacher.

"You're a skipper too, huh? Come on." She groaned and the boy joined Thantos and Sam.

"Dude you reak!" Complained Sam. The boy shrugged.

"Just some wine." He whispered.

"Who are you?" Asked Thantos.

"Marcus." He said.

"I'm Sam." Sam put in.

"Thantos." He was obviously bored.

"Hey, aren't you like the track star?" Marcus asked Sam, who shook his head.

"No that's Michael. I'm just really good at the javelin." He said.

"That's interesting." Thantos said dryly.

"And what about you? Good at anything?" sam asked.

"No. I don't like life." Thantos relied in a monotone. Both Marcus and Sam stared at him.

"Boys, in the office. Now." the teacher ordered. The three boys filed into the principle's office and sat down.

"Hello again." the principal greeted, his voice sounding cold.

Ed and Luke entered the metalshop classroom, seeing Kent already hammering away.

"Dude, do you live here?" Ed asked him.

"No." Kent replied coldly. "I just get here early.

"Yep, lives here." Luke whispered to Ed, who smirked as they walked away. Kent sighed; he hated being the odd one out because he was disabled. While thinking of that he looked down at his fake leg and grimaced.

The metal almost called to him, in a way. Kent slid his mask back over his face and started hammering again.

"Karima, will you help Jen?" Asked a teacher. The brunette looked over at the struggling girl and then back at the teacher.

"Okay." Karima said softly and she walked slowly over to Jen.

"I don't get this at all." She whined, flipping a lock of golden hair over her shoulder.

"It's actually really easy, you just have to do that. Your problem is solved." Karima explained. Jen flashed her a dazzling smile, her perfect face glowing.

"Thanks Karima." She said dismissively. Karima caught the hint and went back to her seat. A girl turned around in her seat to face Karima.

"Hey, could you help me?" She asked.

"Sure Sage." Karima agreed and she got up to look over Sage's shoulder.

"That's what you're doing wrong." Karima said. Sage nodded and then smiled.

"I get it! Thanks." She started working on the next problem and Karima went back to her seat. Suddenly Lani tapped her on the shoulder

"Hey, you're Karima, right?" she asked.

"Yes." Karima answered slowly.

"So, like, what planet are you from? I mean, nobody can seriously be as nice as you without being mentally ill, right?" she said. The girls next to her giggled.

"I..."

"So what's your deal? Are you mental? Or did your mother just drop you on you head alot because she's just as retarded as you?" Lani asked. Karima's eyes filled with tears.

"Hey, Lani, maybe they dumped her into some toxic waste." One of the girls said.

"Yeah, that could be it. They were so horrified that you were their child that they tried to dispose of you." Lani said.

"Leave her alone." Sage hissed. Lani made a face at Sage.

"Boo-hoo, little miss garden is mad at me." She said in a fake pouty voice. Sage glared at her and faced Karima.

"Hey, want to go to the mall with me after school?" She asked.

Karima was surprised. "Sure, yes, of course."

"Okay, cool." Sage then turned around because their teacher was glaring at them.

After many more hours the bell rang and all the classes got out.

"Lanz!" Yelled a tall boy.

"Don!" Lani exclaimed, rushing into his open arms.

"Ready for that date we planned?" Don asked.

"You bet." Then she kissed him. Andrea made a gagging face as she and Diana passed. Sage grinned at the two.

"I know what you mean." She told them. They all started laughing as Karima joined them.

"Hello, I'm Karima." She told the other two.

"Diana."

"Andrea."

"I'm Sage!" They all laughed again then Lani broke the kiss with her boyfriend.

"Do you mind, freaks?" She asked. Karima shrank back but the other three glared at the premadonna before walking off, towing Karima with them.

"Dia!" Called Luke, waving his arms. Ed was standing with him.

"What, Lucius?" She asked as she and her friends approached the two boys.

"Time to go home." He said.

"Fine." Diana turned to face her three friends. "See you later I guess." She yawned and then walked with her brother to the buses. Sage said goodbye to Andrea before walking with Karima to her car. Andrea walked back inside the school to go to practice.

Lame chapter, I know. It was basically just introductions to all the people who are the new generation. Sorry about Hephaestus' mortal's into. I'm not very good with Hephaestus. I promise the next chapter is better. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Then PM me or review! Till next time!
