interesting guy
wore a raiders cap
today, i noticed
this morning as he
walked onto the bus.
(don't know that i
can forgive such bad
taste in football teams,
but i suppose, it was\
warm out, so why not?)

i pretended not to notice
as he took the seat
across the aisle from
me; he read a book
as i watched
the city roll past.

then I was gone.

and he was gone.

at work, i didn't
give his atrocious
oakland love a second
thought, and i (almost)
didn't even notice on
the 4:30 ride home
that he was there,
stepping off and
walking away, just
beyond lower campus.

(maybe he really is
a college man at heart.)
