we sat at the corner of Stoglin & Miller watching
one another's faces & the cars roll by talking
of fake meat & faking smiles, plus Armageddon wishing;
don't forget the apocalypse of course.

i think i see the sunrise
in your smile
but when my lips move i feel you glimpsing
crushed flowers & twilight rainbows, but it's okay
it's only the truth.

i walk lines i didn't know were there,
penetrate barriers i never saw before
i come crashing through to the other side.
but you're always there to catch me it seems
when i fall & break every one my bones. you kiss the scars
around my eyes, wash the mud from my hair & you say the stars

will still shine for us tonight; they'll just light the sky on fire.
let's lie together i whisper, on the cool summer grass Together
& watch the heavens burn away & only we know,
this isn't the end but a whole different way of starting
new, all over again (& just for tonight, i believe
i can fly).
