Crash - Collision

By Hyatt

In a crash—collision,

We were separated by a division,

On one side stands your pride,

On the other is where I hide,

In books and dreams that never come true.

I’ve never had much luck with wishing on stars,

But if I did I’d wish to be where you are.

A constellation of mystery and heartbreak follows your path,

Many wondering lost behind your back.

I wonder if they wished as hard as I,

To try to catch your eye.

But in the crash—collision,

We were torn worlds apart,

But without you my heart failed to start.

Just like the dying fireflies,

I to became extinct—from your heart.

In a past that was just present,

We were so hesitant,

To start what we knew would never finish,

But we've forsaken it,

By tainting it,

With doubt and fear.

In a crash—collision,

We were separated by a division,

On one side stands your pride,

On the other is where I hide,

In books and dreams that never come true.

In the crash of our collision,

I was struck down with a vision,

Your side of pride was engulfed in fire,

But I came out of hiding to be your water.

In a crash—collision,

We were separated by a division,

On one side stands your pride,

On the other is where I hide,

In books and dreams that never come true.

But in fire I was your water,

This was the start,

Of the start of your heart becoming mine,

Just like stories from the beginning of time,

I stole it and you became my constellation.

In another collision I repaired our division.
