After The Initial Foundations’ Death, The Floodgates Pour Open

Pop the top off that Champagne bottle, because you have made it past the final stage of a relationship. You have gone off on a quest that rivals a conquistadors’, and you managed to ignore the gold altogether. That’s a considerable feat, if you know how all about the great conquistadors of the past.

Today starts off as the first day of the rest of your life, when you know you’re free. When you know you can do anything, and even though it feels a little odd still, you know you can survive anything now.

When we last left off, the pain had been brought forth, and you watched your own relationship’s death. But if you haven’t already caught on, birth always follows after death. It’s only natural, right?

This morning you woke up and decided things would be different. You were going to be over the relationship that failed. Though it was still painful to think about, you thrust yourself out into the world, just like a debutante or a quinceañera. You took that crucial step that forces all human beings to move on, and well look at how that turned out! It was a lovely day.

Maybe you spent time with family, or maybe you worked on new projects. Maybe you ran five miles in the freezing cold, or maybe you did all three. The point is that you did not mope. You did something with your time, and whether that is ignoring the pain in an unhealthy way or busying yourself to better your health is a subject you may debate amongst yourselves.

Change, you have found, is not a terrible thing. Well, of course most change can be searing and painfully, but that which does not kill you can only make you stronger; right Mr. West? You may have lost the one and only person in your life that could be considered an external family member, but you must remember that most changes in relationships are temporary, unless something particularly ugly happened in the past.

Things may get better between you two, but it is more than likely that you will never have the same relationship ever again. Now that such a revolution has been established, everything else falls into place, like pieces of the puzzle we tend to refer to as “life”.

But have this hope for the future: things can only go up from here. From here on out, there shall be no whining. There shall be no senseless battles between you two over who is ignoring whom, or who is doing something wrong.

This is your chance to discover yourself without the help of another, and so…? So, you will take that chance, of course. It is only human to move on after especially hurtful relationships. Therefore, this fresh new start may be just what you need.

Maybe now you will be more artistic, more musical, more focused…more of anything. You are discovering yourself, not someone else.

Find yourself, or get lost in the lights and sounds that surround us. Either way, you shall be doing yourself a favor by waking up tomorrow as well with the same thoughts as today.

Today you are brand new. This is the next mark in time, where you know what you want, and the new persona you want to create. This is not you with your other half anymore. Oh no, this is completely and absolutely you.

Show the world what you yourself have to offer. Chances are the world will adore you.
