Chapter 4 The Special Mission

Viks woke up the next morning in a tent. It was an Aframe tent, and the inside color was dark blue. Next to him Viks saw a sleeping bag and a pillow. He thought it was Zito’s. He got up and got dressed. He was walking out the door when collapsed grasping his chest. When he looked down it was bandaged.

“Damn him.” Viks cursed. He got back on his feet and pulled out his sword to use as a cane. He saw Tom sitting on a log next to a fire. Tom looked worried.

“He must know what happened.” Thought Viks. “Hey, Tom.” He managed to say. Tom looked up and his worried expression had disappeared.

“Viks, you’re okay already. I’ve never seen somebody recover that fast. It’s a miracle. Praise Azra” He seemed so excited. Viks embraced the man.

Viks heard a yawn and heard Xi come out the tent he shard with Tom.

“Good morning Tom. Good morning Viks.” He greeted. Suddenly he froze, and in a robotic motion turned to Viks.

“You’re awake!” he exclaimed, and rushed to Viks side, jumping on his shoulders. Viks could barely support the monkesy wait, and when Xi saw that he jumped off.

“Nice to see you too.” Viks commented.

“Viks, my man you’ve been out for three days! How’ve you been Sleeping Beauty.” Came a familiar voice. Viks knew that by the stupid comment that it was Zito. The dragon grinned.

“Has it really been three days?” asked Viks. Zito shook his head.

“No, its been like…he paused counting on his finger, seven hours.” Viks sighed. Inconspicoulsy Tom took up his battle axe, and slashed Viks in the back. Viks ducked and clenched his stomach. Xi revealed his weapon. 15 years ago Xi was attacked, and he lost his arm in that battle, so now Xi’s lance became his arm, and he has a hand made out of ice. The monkey saw his chance and lunged at Viks, who sidestepped and used his sword to smack it down, and he kicked Xi in the chest. He winced again in pain.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“Ice.” Tom whispered. Viks turned around.

“Ice Rain!” Tom yelled. He raised his hand and icicles formed in the sky. He lowered his hand. The icicles were coming down at lighting speed. Viks knelt down on one knee. He knew by doing that he could dodge ones coming at his head. He gripped his weapon tightly.

“I’ll save you!” Zito yelled springing into the air. HE swung his flail and started blocking, and desotrying the incoming projectiles.

“Oh no, I am not getting by Zito.” Viks declared. He quickly slashed at the icicles and destroyed a few, but some of the fragments still stabbed his vonerable limbs. He rolled out of the way to dodge a few. Finally the icicles stopped. Viks was on his knees. Viks looked up and saw Tom standing above him

“Why did you… uh?” Viks tried to say then stopped becusae he had Xi’s lance at his throat.

“He caught you off guard Viks. This was a short training session so you would get used to pain.” Zeke explained. Xi felt something wrap around his throat.

“Lower your weapon.” Zito commanded. Zito then felt something cold against his own throat.

“Its okay Zito, lower your weapon.” Tom promised. Zitoonly tightened his hold on Xi’s throat.

“Only if you follow suit.” Viks said. Tom wsa surprised, and then he felt it. He felt something cold and pointy at his chest. He looked down and saw Viks’s sword piercing his chest. Viks had inconspicuously slid his sword in between the legs of Zito and Xi. Zeke appeared in front of Viks. He laughed.

“In all my years I’ve never seen anyone in a perdicaent like this.” He started laughing again. He flied above to get a better view.

“Viks truly is an entertaining person.” He thought.

“That’s enough Tom you showed us enough. For novices they’re not bad. I think you said it well Xizo. Those two are…entertaining.” A voice said.

“We can’t help today though Tom.” Started another voice. “They’ll need to have a long rest before even attempting our training.” Tom looked up and smiled.

“Louis, Xizo, thank you for taking your time to help me, and I know it will cost us.” Tom stated.

“Boulderdash.” Xizo reassured. “We’re old friends aren’t we? And friends help friends don’t they?”

“Yeha don’t worry about it Tom. You have my word as a wind Keck that We’ll help you and your band of merry men.” Lou agreed. The duo decened from the air. Lou was was a man of many words. He was handsome, tall, strong, smooth, friendly, loyal, and moral. His grey eyes reflected the color of the wind, meaning their was little color visible. He had a tornado ingraved on his forehead, and he never hid it along with the capital K mark next to it. Unlike many other Keck’s Lou was proud of his abilities. His black hair was tamed, and he carried a Bo staff on his back. His Guardain Xizo was difrrent. He had most of Lou’s traits, but only another phoenix could tell if he was handsome, but he didn’t have muscles. His slanted eyes were a pale blue, and his wings like the rest of his body was a great grey mass. Akwardly Xizo had hair, not counting his feathers and it was gold. His tail could summon a cyclone with one strong swing. His weapon was a shuriken that he kept in orbit around his face with his wind abilities. Xizo lokked at Viks, then to his Guardian who had just been siting there staring in awe of the wind masters. Xizo smiled. Zke let out another laugh.

“I can’t believe Tom hired those two to train Viks and Zito.” He went back to Viks and his face showed sympathy. “It’s been nice knowing you Viks.”

Greg walked into the main room of Molten Tower. It was his favorite room because he designed it. Well actually he just told people where everything should go, but it was close enough. He jumped on one of the bean bag chairs, and grabbed a dodecahedron controller and stared playing Colonel K The Rage of War. He found a sniper rifle, and sat ontop of the hill and was sniping noob. He enjoyed the game. When he ran out of bullets he just switched to a pistol, which ironically was his real world weapon, and started obliterating everything he saw. “Wow Greg, I’m glad you’re on my side.” Said a creature flying behind him.

“Yeah, you of all…creatures know that I have perfect aim Proboy. Proboy was a bat and was pretty big for one at that. He stood at 5ft 4 the same height as Greg. He had purple wings and a blue body. He flew behind Greg and picked up a controller and held it in his teeth and beagn too play. He was surprisingly good. Almost as good as Greg, almost. Greg found Proboy and bean to shoot the hell out of him when the system turned off.

“What the peanut!” Proboy shouted.

“Dagg, the T.V. must be out of power. M must be working on something big.”

“Yeah, so anyway what happened with Venom I saw him pull you into Master’s chamber?” Proboy questioned. Greg chuckled.

“You know the Master he seems to favor me. I told him the truth I tired on the ring because I liked it. Put it back, saw Venom steals it, and bang. I’m in his room.” Greg explained.

“You’re not off the hook yet kid. For all we know you could be lying through your teeth. ” Came the voice of K.J. Diamond. Greg smiled.

“Lying is like being in the same room as Venom, sometimes it’s necessary, but I hate it.” That right there was a half lie. Greg hated Venom, but Greg could weave lies like a potter molds clay.

“Hey K.J. how ya been?” asked Proboy.

“I’m well Proboy, thank you”. He turned to Greg. “I hope when Capybara’s explained to you the situation you’ll be okay too.”

“Oh and… be careful you two. Capybara expects you in 3 minutes.” K.J. left the room.

“Okay ready Proboy?” asked Greg. The bat nodded. Greg and Proboy entered Capybara’s chamber.

“Ah, nice to see you again Greg.” Capybara greeted. “Same to you Proboy.”

“Hello Master.” Proboy greeted politely. Greg just nodded. Capybara grunted his disappointment. He liked Proboy because he was a polite…er bat. He also liked Greg because he got on with people, but his attitude needed some refinement.

“I have a mission for you.” Explained Capybara. Greg’s ears perked up.

“So that’s what this is about.” He thought. He smiled. Finally, he had never been on a mission and now Greg had his time to shine.

“We need you to go to Erupter. That’s where Tom is headed.” Explained Capybara. He pointed to a board in the back of the room, and Horn was there. Proboy leaped back in fear.

“Woah, you just like teleported there!” Proboy exclaimed. The bug cleared his throat.

“As you two know the Moltens are trying to…reform Altria to our liking. To do that we sometimes must go undercover to learn about the status of the territories.” Explained Horn. Greg was getting bored. Proboy was half asleep. They already knew that, when they were accepted into the organization. Actually it was Capybara himself who hired them.

“So, whats our mission?” asked Greg.

“You two are going to have one of the most difficult tasks in Erupter.” Revealed Horn. Greg’s eyes gleamed. He was ready for anything. Now Proboy was fully awake.

“You two must assassinate Grand Judge Jim.” Capybara finished. Greg looked at the ground. He had a thing about death. He didn’t like it that much. He looked at his hand and saw the commet. He clenched his fists.

“You all right Greg?” asked Proboy. Greg just smiled.

“Yeah, I’m just phyced that’s all.” Greg was lying and Proboy knew it, but blew it off.

“One question, just how do we get close enough to do the job?” asked Proboy.

“I bet you 7 bucks we’re goning to have to join the guards and fake protecting him.” Greg answered..Capybara looked at Proboy.

“Your on Greg.” His Guardian challenged.

“Greg.” Capybara started. “You just won 7 bucks.”

“Yes!” screamed Greg. “Pay up.” He demanded. Proboy gave him the money.

“Great doing buissness with ya.” Greg chuckled and put the money in his wallet. All the money he made was from bets and dares. Greg was the only person that Capybara knew (in his 37 years of life) to never lose a bet, or fail a dare.

“Now I must ask you can you accept this mission?” asked Capybara. He knew Greg hated stuff like this, but if he succeeded then he knew how dedicated Greg was. Proboy nodded with excitement.

“Okay, we’ll do it.” Greg answered. “Come on Proboy if we need to look like body guards were going to need our weapons. He walked out of the room to his chamber. Proboy’s was right next door. Before Proboy left he asked

“Master, do you really think that we’re ready for this?” asked Proboy. Capybara shrugged. Only time can answer. Horn nodded in reassurance.

“Thank you.” Proboy bowed and left his Master’s chamber.

He caught up with Greg and the two discussed what they would do when they got to Erupter. They got to their chambers and started to pack. The Moltens called their rooms, chambers because they were 20 ft long and 20 ft wide. Greg packed his own dodecahedron, a controller, a memeory box, and his Colonel K poster. He also packed clothes, food, and other bear assentials. Lastly he took his gun from the glass box on the wall. He admired the long shiny barrel. The jet black color calmed him whenever he looked at it. He didn’t know why, no one did. The black color is why Greg gave it the nickname “Blackout.” He swung it and placed it on his shoulder. It was longer then most guns, and Greg had never missed a single shot with it.Greg was so fast with it though he could shoot ten bullets in one second. He swung it again and placed it in his pocket. He left the room to see Proboy siting at the door.

“Took you long enough.” The bat teased. Greg looked at Proboys bags. He packed some clothes tootheburshes, toothpaste, bat food (which was bug blood), colored water, (the color is red) and his weapon. Proboy’s weapon was a kwan do.

“You ready Greg?” asked Proboy. Greg nodded. The two now just needed to see Emmanuel to get their transportation. Greg and Proboy entered the Molten Tower laboratory. All sorts of expirements and beakers were in here. In the center was a table with two of their comrades. The first one was a boy. He had silver eyes, and grey hair. His face showed no emotion when he was involved in his work which was very often. He wore a pendant which had the symbol of Axtroth the God of metal. The boy was the same age as Greg, but about 100 times smarter. On his left eyelid was a capital K and a block of metal which symbolized his power. Next to him was his Guardian. The Guardian was a female cheetah. She had blue eyes like the spots that littered her body. Instead of having a yellow body color is was orange. She calimed it was because she ate too many carrots. That’s another reason she was strange, she was a vegetarian. The two were arguing about sometime of expirement when Greg, and Proboy walked over to the table.

“Shh.” Whispered Greg. He slowly tiptoed over to the boy.

“Aboogaboogabooga!” he screeched.

“Oh, shaiymen!” he yelled. He fled and hid behind his Guardian. Greg let out a big long laugh.

“Grr.” Growled the cheetah.

“Sorry Jasmine, but that was too tempting.” Greg laughed.

That’s why I didn’t stop him, but can you please forguive us.” Proboy begged. Proboy was scared of Jasmine so if he ever angered her he quickly apoligizeed. The boy got up from behind the cheetah. He brushed himself off, and raised his hand. He moved his index and middle fingers towards his body. All sorts of metal objects came to him. He shook his head and tossed them aside. He repeated this until he got what he wanted. He took a little device and handed it to Greg.

“Now take it and be gone.” He commanded.

“Oh, come on M.” Greg coaxed. “I’m only messing with you.” Emmanuel turned around slowly. Proboy backed up. He was scared of Emmanuel too.

“What were you working on. It must be impressive becusae it turned off the T.V.” Proboy asked. M picked up something on the table. It looked like a magnet to Greg.

“This is a magnet that can attract virtually anything. Metal, plastic, paper, wood, water, you name it.”

“That sounds impressive.” Proboy complimented.

“You’re such a nerd.” Greg tested.

“You are surrounded by mmetal objects, and I control metal. Leave before I make you.” Emmanuel ordered.

“Whatever you say Emmanuel.” Greg grinned. He walked away and Proboy followed. Once they were out the door Greg quickly turned around.

“Oh, and by the way your powers are so crappy that you can’t even threaten Prpboy with them at all.” Greg laughed, and made a face. Emmanuel had, had enough. He spun around and thrust his hands out. Metal objects hurled across the room towards the door. Greg shut the door, and the objects banged against it. Emmanuel was frustrated, but he returned to his normally calm self after a deep breath.

“Greg.” He whispered. “I really hate you!” He turned to Jasmine, and the two continued their conversation.
