The Shorra
It had been three days since Sky and Nem left Hemren for the Shorra. Three tiring days. Three uneventful days. Three days…with Nem. Sky was usually apathetic towards things. However if it involved people’s lives or anything with his family Sky would change. If he was with his family he was usually happy. If they were put in danger Sky would do anything to save them and would angry at whoever did that to his family. Nem was an exception. The two were twins, but Nem was older, but only by a few seconds. This is because Sky pushed him out of the womb. He claimed that even as an embryo he hated his brother. That applied right now. Nem rarely left the city and every time he saw like a squirrel, or a really tall tree he would stop and examine it. Sky left the city all the time, because he was rarely needed and bored. So he really couldn’t stand his older brother for these last three days, or the next three days. Nothing really happened that whole week Nem was exited Sky was not, and they didn’t talk that much. Nem felt bad about that. He tried to make conversation, but Sky either couldn’t hear him, or ignored him. Nem thought it was the latter.
“We almost there?” He asked hopefully. Sky kept on walking.
“I said, are we almost there?” Nem asked louder. Sky suddenly stopped walking. He turned around. He pointed behind him.
“What do you see?” He asked his brother. Nem looked and felt a chill crawl up his spine. It was only 12:00 in the afternoon. Yet the sky was black as night. It seemed to come form the mist that lay about 6 miles ahead of them.
“Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. The inscription written on the gates of Arza’s Lair apply here too.” He pointed at the mist. “When he enter there abandon all hope Nem, because we might not be coming back.” A great wind came from nowhere and seemed to push Sky and Nem away.
“Even the wind is scared of this place.” He looked once more to his brother. “Ace better appreciate this, or help me Azra…” He stopped. Nem looked scared, worse then scared. He was trembling all over and his eyes were wide with terror. Sky put a hand on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry for scaring you, but it’s the truth.” He turned and he and his brother (who was very reluctant) walked towards the black mist that was the Shorra.
