Elyssa walked gracefully into her room, a being of beauty and poise. Her long soft brown hair cascaded in a series of ripples down her back and pulled away from her face so as not to obscure her stunning face. As the sun shone through the loose green curtains her face glowed with radiance, her delicate green eyes sparkled and her smooth pale cheeks were illuminated to a light rosy colour. There was not a single freckle on her face, and she was by far the most beautiful lady in all of the land. However she was not just any lady, she was the daughter of the king, a princess. As Elyssa gazed around the room, her jaw slightly raised her eyebrows moved up ever so much in approval. Elyssa daintily lifted the jade green gown she had worn upon arrival, and her face showed no expression except for her eyes which always had a meaningful gaze about them accompanied by a mysterious deepness and a wise but gentle stare that drew most peoples attention to her. Whenever Elyssa walked into a room its occupants would stop to look at her radiance and immaculate beauty. And yet in that deepness in her eyes was a well concealed sadness that upon gazing would not at first be noticed due to the firm posture she held about herself.

Alone in her room Elyssa sat with a small sigh, then noticing no one was nearby let her true emotions show as her face filled with sorrow. She was a young girl of 17 and her father now wants her to marry in order for her to proceed as one day becoming queen. Her long thin fingers reached gently towards the gold chain around her neck. It had been given to her as a thank you for her acceptation to come and meet the prince whom she was to marry. Of course she had not come alone, with her was her mother and father, her 16 year old younger sister and the family’s maids and servants they were to stay at king Fortrius’ castle for several days to meet and know the prince and the kingdom. For after the wedding the lands would be united. The next day Elyssa was to meet prince Cedric whom her father had chosen her to marry. Although Elyssa hadn’t met him she had an odd feeling about him about him. She would have to wait until the next day for her to know him before judging him. Cedric was out in the forest hunting for food for the following nights welcoming feast. And so, after having had a moment to ponder and concluding that to much relied on future events to determine anything at the current time, Elyssa gathered herself before swiftly walking to the mattress laying down and falling asleep. It took Elyssa a while as she did not want the next day to arrive. She did not want to marry, she wanted love, and to feel the warmth that would tingle through her when she thought of that special person. Instead Elyssa was being forced to marry someone she had not yet met. It was a long while before Elyssa had finally gone to sleep, and that night she had a mixture of good and bad dreams.
