I was literally in a haze when I wrote these poems. Yes, it's more than one poem, but it didn't feel right to separate them.

This is the first time I've ever just written without thinking.

Enjoy.

In a haze

The hour of doom is neigh,

Now you must choose the side

With whom you will stand.

To honor the lost, heals the living.

--

We create it, but we fear it.

We study it, but won’t let others do so.

We use it. We shall pay.

For one day, it will be used against us.

--

Now is the time that we must find our values,

For if we don’t find them soon

They will be forever lost.

--

If one should be shushed for asking a civilized question,

The world would have no reason.

--

What is the point?

Dream.

Dream of a life where anything is possible.

Dream of a world that contains magic and fantasy.

Imagine.

Imagine a power.

A power that lets you have whatever you want,

To create a familiar for yourself.

Love.

Love the magic.

The magic that is in your heart,

Let the magic and fantasy guide your love.

What an amazing book.

Dream, Imagine, Love.

Life is as fragile as gossamer dragonfly wings,

But imagination is as vast as the oceans.

--

As the frog calls, the moon shines true,

And the vines seem to be of the purest silver,

All is peaceful. Then the frog is silenced,

And the wind holds its breath,

The shadows dance in the stillness as though alive.

And when the silence seems to last forever,

The wind exhales, and the crickets sing,

The shadows become still and the frog calls anew.

The dawn is neigh and spirit hour past,

Bringing with it, the promise of dreams come true.

My 14th year on this earth.

These came to me during an 8th grade class; while (as stated above) I was in a kind of dream state and when I woke up I had poetic scribble all over my paper. (This is what I get for reading fantasy novels all the time.)

One interesting thing is that some of these had to do with (national, world, Bush) problems of the time. See if you can figure out what some of subject matters are.
