Human Responsibility
With the subtlety of a neurotoxin
Paralyzing, eating through the brain
Infected tissues fall away
We decay
Decisively but without options
We dig our trenches, massive open graves
Domestic issues fade away
Ignore the pain
And there's nothing we can do
That's what their great big machines keep on feeding you
They'll keep domesticating the truth
Until the lie looks more appealing
No convenience has ever been more revealing
And if we don't stop them we're all screwed
Because this is a war on the poor
Just like every one before
We're all aware of what's in store
And neither we nor the world are prepared to take any more
This has got to be the last time we
Let people die over their god or country
There's nothing left of all that we once believed
And now my conscience is just slowly killing me
And I know that I'm not the only one
Who doesn't want to be on either end of that loaded gun
I respect the right to choose not to defend
In fact I'd rather run
But I think it's plain to see from current events
There's no longer an option
We've got to do something now
Because this is a war on the poor
Just like every one before
We're all aware of what's in store
And neither we nor the world are prepared to take any more
From necessity comes a world in a topspin
Nothing left but there's hope yet amidst the dismay
Reconstructions under way
This starts today
With them out of our way
