There are those things that lurk in the world, things we cannot explain, and refuse to acknowledge.

I speak without fear of reprisal that there are things out there. Not aliens, not demons, not angels, not spirits. But things. And when they seek for us, they look us in the eyes and we smile. Not because we are happy but because we do not see them. Not because they are not there, but because we refuse to accept them for what they are, in reality.

They are ignored and categorized. We want to pretend they are not real, and that they are like us.

Two Species, One name. Humans.

But now I ask for your review, what makes a human, a human, is it our heart? No, many creatures have hearts.

Our, speech? No, many creatures can communicate.

Our sentience? But how can we be sure all things do not possess it?

No, it is none of these things. I think it is the soul, that spark of life that sums up our existence that allows us to look at someone and tell they are a person. But then what of those who look like us, walk like us, fight like us, and think like us, but do not arouse this feeling? What are they, if not human? I say again, they are things. But is that really so bad? A thing is merely that. It is. That is all that may be said. I have seen them, and they have seen me, they feel the distances just as I do. I only ask why are they that way? What causes someone to lack that essential human element? How can things so alike be so different in the most fundamental way possible. We may research them, but I is not a difference made by science. We may speak to them, but it is not a difference drawn in that either. The only difference is in them. In eyes, ears, hands, and indeed the entirety of their form they are separate. I am not alone, there are many who know, but refuse to accept. What are they? They are Them.

A/N: not 100 where I was going with this. but I think it's just a commentary. I was bullied a lot earlier in life. and I always wondered how one person can do that to another. I guess this is kinda the answer I came up with. if you tilt your head and look at it right. anyway R&R
