Matchmaker

The matchmaker sees and observes

To see if each other is what the couple deserves

He listens and guides

To mend people’s love lives

Until they fall in love

On that very good day

With things in disarray

The matchmaker sits in pew

As the bride walks in on cue

The groom a nervous wreck

They say their vows

Kiss and smiles

As the matchmaker watches and says

“There goes another happy couple that do whatever they may!”

The matchmaker retires to see

Whoever the next couple may be

Perhaps two lives will be blessed

Before they put themselves in a mess

For being with the wrong person

After all, that is what a matchmaker is for

To make two lives into something much, much more!!
