Our first kiss

by Phoenix O. Bright

Can't seem to stop thinking about you

No matter what I do

Can't seem to stop saying your name

I think I'm going insane

In my dreams your name appears

But in real life what grows is fear

What if I disappoint you?

I'm just a little girl

I'm just a teen

I must bear the lies

Cause with you I can't be seen

But all will be alright

When I see you smile so bright

But what if I do disappoint you?

When you come near

Again there's the fear

My eyes see your lips

That I want to touch with my fingertips

It's driving me crazy

I must do it soon

Before my heart gets pulled out further

By that love harpoon

If I disappoint you

I don't care

I'll be happy

Knowing that I did dare

Your face up close

Your scent so sweet

You caress my neck

As our lips meet

Lips part, slowly but sure

The feeling is there

And oh so much more

I'm so happy

I really did this

It wasn't catastrophic

It just made me wish

That every single one of them

Is like our first kiss

Author's Note

First Kisses suck...truly

The suspense...the waiting for it

Ah...kills me...hope that I don't have to go through that again

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed

I know that the poem is bit shaky / sucky whatever, but I wish to leave it that way so you can

see what progress I made as a poet. I'll revise it later!!
