Shiny pink scars
Painted across my wrist
Like permanent Post-it notes
I wrote to myself
I carved a reminder
Into the pale parchment
That is my flesh
The silver between my fingers
The sharp tip on my skin
Is the only pen that can write
With my crimson ink
These notes are reminders to me
So that I might write more
These burnished lines beckon to me
Call my name like the devil
Whisper seductively into my ear
Tempting me to write
Tempting my pen to glide
Tempting my ink to flow
Tempting me to post reminders
Reminders to repeat this cycle
I peel off the old notes
My pen does glide
My ink does flow
My body is covered
With Post-it note scars.
