The wind whispers through the trees

A sad and lonely song

The trees sway in rhythm

Lean and slender and long.

A crow interrupts

Singing her own tune

As it echoes through the trees

And she flies across the moon.

An owl glares at its prey below

Two rats scampering through fallen leaves

He rockets down, snatches his meal

And swoops back to his spot in the trees.

A doe nibbles

Her fawn plays

A branch snaps

And chases them away

I continue the song the wind began

As it continues to blow through the trees

Sad and lonely; full of pain

Singing to the breeze.
