The dusty shadow-men don’t like that we’re free

So they protest and fly planes into Lady Liberty

And we’re left with the ghosts on the oil-stained floor

But that only makes our President hungry for more

So now our soldiers are shipped off to die

And the government won’t tell them the truth of why

Why must we send our brothers overseas?

Greed, it seems, is a contagious disease

I fell in love with a boy and we got engaged

But he was stolen by the army for the war it waged

Would you have still taken him if you had known

That this father-to-be would never come home?

So Mr. President, when you claim war is for democracy

Please realize this pain you’re causing is only hypocrisy

How many more innocents do you want to sit upon

Before you decide that the terror is gone?
