Beth cried into her arms and wished she could die. She felt dirty and tainted. She looked up over the lake and watched as the rain fell in sheets across its usual glassy surface.
She hugged her knees closer to her chest trying to make this feeling that she felt go away. Hoping-no wishing that the memory of what about happened would go away. She rocked herself and felt the tears start to renew as she recalled what had happened.
Beth was sitting in the window sill of the Head Common Room in her pajamas looking out the window watching the rain fall down outside. The clock struck midnight and she was not yet ready to go back to her House Common Room and go to her bed.
She looked at the room and looked at the fireplace that was straight across the room from her. It gave off a cheery glow and making shadows on the walls and floor. She looked at all the armchairs, wooden chairs, benches, and tables-which were all rarely seen without someone sitting on them or studying diligently upon them.
She had never seen this room so empty before. It gave the room a larger appearance than what it already was, and with the vaulted ceilings it gave it that much more of eeriness, considering the rain falling outside.
She looked back out the window and watched as the rain fell outside upon the school and from what she could see through the fog on the grounds.
She could hear rain fall on the roof and against the stained glass windows. She then found herself wondering what it would be like to go out and dance in the rain and feel the cool drops of water fall upon her skin.
Thunder rolled in the distance and then was matched by a huge flash of lightning. Rain started to fall harder and in torrents. And for a moment she wanted to open the huge stained glass window and let the rain fall upon her and the wind blow around her.
Watching as the rain soaked through mother earth and listening to the thunder roll closer and closer to where she was safe and warm, she then almost missed the sound of a door closing until she heard it click shut.
She sent out her senses to see who it was and was surprised when she found it to be Jeb. But somehow something seemed wrong about him and the vibes he was giving was not the usual vibes that he normally gave off. And something about the way he was walking in the room was causing the hair on the back of her neck to stand up.
When he stumbled down the stairs that led from the entrance to the room she was now looking straight at him and frowned. He was holding onto a bottle and he stumbled his way towards a table and then just fell upon it and when doing so he broke the bottle. He cursed and then looked up and then saw her looking at him.
She watched as a furry of emotions flashed across his face and then all of a sudden as if placing her he smiled and then said walking towards her,
“Beth -what- are -you- doin’- ‘ere?”
