"Stop it, Taylor!" Li fumed, smacking her friend with a large red pillow. The impact caused the rip in the side to tear open and spew cotton all over the floor. Taylor just laughed harder, unable to continue her scary story. Li jumped up and perched herself on the couch, leaving her red-faced friend on the floor with the pillow's contents.
"It-hit-It's t-too f-fhun-funny!" Taylor choked out, now trying to calm herself. Li just narrowed her almond-shaped eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.
"No it's not." She demanded, kicking her friend in the shoulder.
"Hey!" Taylor retaliated by slapping her foot away.
"If I'd known that you were just going to try to get me to scream all night, I wouldn't have come over!" Li whined, lowering herself back to the floor and kicking away Taylors sketchbook. it was chok full of the very thing Li hated most:
Dragons.
All of Li's friends loved to bug her about her extraordinary phobia. Li was fascinated by bugs, loved snakes, and had never been scared of clowns. No, she was afraid of dragons. Which was only made worse by the fact that her friends made fun of her for it.
"Come on, Li." Taylor sighed, trying to swallow her laughter still. She flipped her notebook open to a sketching of a large, red chinese dragon. li shuddered. Anything that Taylor drew jumped off the page. She was just sad that Taylor used her powers for evil.
"Dragons aren't even real." She scowled, tracing a finger over her drawing.
"I'm glad." Li shuddered. "You'd never see me leave my house." Taylor scowled.
"How can you be scared of something that doesn't exist?" She asked, reaching over for her colored pencils.
"Same as people are scared of vampires and werevolves." Li retorted, and Taylor paused. She shrugged.
"You got me there." She sighed. Li looked triumphant and pushed a lock of her dark hair from her face.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and the girls looked at each other. Li glanced at the clock. It read 11:54. Taylor hefted herself off the ground and carefully maneuvered her way through the usual array of sleepover floor coverings. Li followed close behind, stopping to kick taylor's notebook under the couch.
The doorbell rang again, and the girls gathered around the door. Taylor stood on her toes to peer out through the peephole. A grin flickered across her face, and she turned to Li, trying to swallow her laughter. Li gave her an odd look and grabbed the door hadle. She unlatched the door and pulled it open only to see-
"RAWR!"
Li screamed loudly and scrambled backwards, hitting the floor just as taylor started into a fresh round of giggles. A giant, red dragon swayed outside the door, emitting odd sounds. It had two horrid tan antlers sprouting from it's terrible whiskered face. It's large gold eyes were haunting and it's face was split into a monstrous grin.
Li was about to suck in a breatch and go for more screaming, when the great creatured lowered its head, staring at the ground. from behind it appeared-
"JADE!!!" Li screamed furiously, making Taylor just laugh harder. Jade giggled along, and emitted a scream as well as Li lunged for her.
"YOU TWO ARE DEAD!"
