Never Alone

Written by: Sleepless Eyes for DarkCadence

The torment I've suffered
Are bound from one by another
I always wondered what I possibly craved
What was missing?

It was you, who paved a way
Lit a torch and lead a way

Saw through my iron mask

Of guise, and
Saved me from the agony of pain

All of that time,
Months and months,
I wanted to tell you I love you
Never truly sickened disdain for a crime unpaid

I knew I was never meant to be alone
Your happiness and joy cast aglow in my world of darkness

A light that I thought I was never to know
In my mind were voices that called your name

Our smiles,
were never a lying game
Never alone
Never in aching

Secrets of joy surrounded us with our smiles
as we both would so know
Neither of us
Were hardly alone

I steadily remained, unshaken, unstirred
I helped us to come together, piece by piece
Sound by sound

We were never meant to be alone
Souless and heartless

We built a garrison of defiance
that was prepared for war

In convenience
the world soon faded and
crumble to dust

The world was alone

But not us

Never
Forever gone,

Forever lost

Speckled in sunshine,
We will never lose ourselves again

Not today
Not tomorrow
Never

With only much more to be gained
I can now breathe and live again

Solely,
and only,
because of you

Author notes: Thanks to J.A. Madison for pointing out my grammatical and spelling errors the first time I posted this poem up. This poem is over a year old and I hadn't really looked it over when I posted it late last (Saturday) night.
