i saw her in the distance-
her spine was straight,
her porcelain skin
and dark ebony locks
made her gorgeous; but oh-
how haunted her eyes were.
her dainty hand pressed
against an icy reflection of herself,
and the plane in the distance
soared into the sky and
d i s a p p e a r e d ;
and finally-
finally;
translucent tears made their way
down her alabaster cheeks.
