We were all rounded together

At the valuation.

Men & women,

Old & young,

Married & single,

Were ranked with horses,

With sheep, with swine.

There were horses & men,

Cattle & women,

Pigs & children,

All holding the same rank of being,

All subjected to the same examination.

Silvery-headed age & sprightly youth,

Maids & matrons,

All had to undergo the same

Indelicate, indecent

Inspection.

Our fate for life

Was now to be decided.
