a night of miracles

broken wings gathered together
looking for the face of God.
hand in hand in a circle they sat
in prayers of unknown languages

(the center wasn’t empty for long.)

feathers fell from the ceiling;
bubbles filled the atmosphere.

(angels heard their cry that night.)

prophecies painted the floor beneath
them in golden dust with pictures of
stained glass windows flowing over the floor
in bright life-giving colors beneath the people
changing the floor from monochromatic
to polychromatic.

the heavens were reigning that day.
