Underwater Killings

Chapter five

Tyler woke up to the smell of chemicals like a lab. But he wasn’t at a lab. The boy regained his vision and found that he was lying in a very clean yet white hospital bed, dressed in an clean blue surgical gown. Lots of wires were attached and he was bandaged up pretty good. Next to him was a snoring Greg and a machine that was connected to the IV stuck on the back of his hand. That hurt worse than his side.

Suddenly everything started to piece together. Mary’s death, Revenge, The Shark Incident, Greg and The unexpected trip to the local hospital. Tyler sighed and tried to move. He regretted that horribly, as he groaned, almost cried out in pain that was released in his side. The movement stirred Greg from his sleep. The teen had to wipe the drool from his mouth before realizing where he was actually at. He expected to be at home, in his nice warm bed and wake up to constant yelling was nonstop since three o’ clock in the morning from his parents. Home sweet home…is what Greg called it.

Greg looked at Tyler strangely but soon remembered everything that had happened. “You feel okay?” Greg asked just before a tired yawn.

Tyler slowly moved his head towards Greg. He winced in pain. “I guess. You?”

“I’m fine. Still trying to wake up.” Greg yawned afterwards. Tyler laughed and looked towards the ceiling.

“You know what?” Tyler asked.

Greg jolted up. “What?”

“A week before all this, I wrote how I was going to die and it actually came true, starting with my sister’s death and ending with others.” Tylr explained.

“Others?”

“innocent people. People who don’t care. People who don’t matter.”

“Oh.”

“What?” Tyler asked in confusion.

“Huh? Oh! Nothing. It’s nothing for you to worry about.” Greg laughed nerbvously. He frowned at the thought. When Tyler was unconscious, Greg found the slip of paper in Tyler’s left back pocket that was stained in blood, seconds before he fell asleep. The paper fell out of his hands and now is under Tyler’s hospital bed. Greg recitd the depressing words in his mind: I want to fight a shark with my own hands and he accidently ate one of my organs and I only have a short time to live. So I went back ito the ocean and the family of sharks killed me. Greg shuddered instantly after.

Ten minutes later, a woman in a long white lab coat with gray eyes and shoulder length amber colored hair came into the room, as quietly as possible. She smiled at Greg, who smiled back, and then focused her attention to Tyler. Tyler looked at her with much suspicion. The woman cleared her throat.

“Hello.” Began the woman. Her voice was soft yet comforting. “My name is Maria Williams, but you can call me Ms. Williams or doctor is fine too.” Maria smiled again. Both Greg and Tyler stared at each other, then satred at her.

Tyler snapped out of his trance. “Doctor Williams, is my wounds fatal?”

Maria sighed and frowned. “Sadly yes. The shark bite has taken a large amount of tissue along with parts of your stomach and intestines, not to mention the blood lost.”

“How long does he have to live?” greg asked in a tone of concern.

Maria shook her head. “Not long…maybe two weeks…a month maximum.”

“Maybe?” Tyler whispered.

Maria nodded and shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know exactly but I do know that you don’t have much time left.”

“you’re a doctor…you’re suppose to know.” Tyler said, a little bit above a whisper.

Maris shook her head once more. “I don’t know everything. I am only human, like you. I’m sorry.” With that, Maria left the room as silently as she came.

Tyler sighed as Greg grunted low in his throat. “Great…now what?”

Tyler looked at Greg. “Meet me at the beach tomorrow night when the moon is at the highest point in the sky.”

Greg looked at his friend with much confusion. He didn’t understand but he said okay anyways.

That night, Greg waited patiently for Tyler, looking at his watch every two to three minutes. He sighed just when Tyler came to meet him.

“Tyler!”

Tyler was walking fast with a limp in his step as Greg came and hugged him carefully. “Hey Greg. Watch it. I’m still in pain. Hopefully, I didn’t keep you waiting.”

Greg shook hi s head. “No. I was just looking at my watch every three minutes, that’s all.”

Tyler laughed softly. “Ready?”

“for what?”

“The ultimate revenge plan. The end of my life as well as the others.” Tyler said darkly ready to jump into the ocean. He had his knife ready but had a knew purpose. His bandages were still in place and all he had on was a pair of black jeans with holes in it.

Greg gulped. “Shouldn’t you rethink this?”

Tyler turned around. “Why?”

“Because the sharks will kill you!”

Tyler turned on his heels. “My point exactly.” with that, Tyler jumped up and dived deep into the ocean.

Greg instantly ran into his car, got in, started it up and headed home. He didn’t want to be around when the blood starts to rise to the surface. All Greg cared about was his bed and sleep. To him, Tyler could take care of himself.

When Tyler was ten minutes out in the sea, the teen pulled out his pocket knife and began the suicide ritual that the Japanese kids and teenagers perform when their under a lot of stress. The kind that makes you suicidal. Blood filled the ocean as the water filled the lungs of Tyler. Sharks came from many different directions and started to tear Tyler to pieces, limb by limb.

The morning sun was just about to continue its daily routine, when alight blue aura above the ocean, began to form. It swayed and swirled as the wind blew, trying to hold structure. The aura soon formed into a teenage boy. The boy opened his eyes and saw the world in a new light. Tyler smiles. “This is going to be fun.” He says darkly. The boy floats in harmony with the wind, as his new life is just beginning. Tyler starts his spiritual life by haunting people to death because of the revenge that the dark beasts has given him.
