Fourth Period Algebra

Across the room from the window,

Do I dare to look outside?

To catch a glance at a clear blue sky-

To wish I was out there instead of inside

Surrounded by these four cream walls,

My desk right next to the clock;

I look away and stare at the board-

Listening to my school timer tock,

I really do try to pay attention sometimes,

But I don’t think I’m fluent in math.

The numbers and letters and graphs in my head,

Forty-five more minutes, I swear I’m going to crack!

To crack right down my center,

So the math teacher can understand,

That I don’t like variables and line diagrams-

English is more what I had planned.

I daydream my way through forth period,

It’s almost the end of the day!

But this drags me down, and makes me tired,

My attention quickly going astray.

And one girl appears to be asleep,

Everyone else looks extremely bored.

Closing my eyes, I rest my head on my desk,

Trying to comprehend something I abhorred.

Mrs. H goes to shut the blinds,

And now I can’t see out the pane.

I wish I could dare to look outside,

And catch a glance at a clear blue sky.

A/n.

I know the rhyming scheme seems a little forced, and I know it's not all around a well written piece, but it makes me chuckle and I like it so, haha. Review if you please. )
