Tucked within—atomic bomb.

Writhing heat twining uranium

To transmute a second’s fraction

Into shear power

Power to destroy.

Sweet in symphonious destruction.

Makeshift firework interlocking

Sprays of coral and crimson

Into a grand, stunning haze

Haze of war.

That spans the girth of sky.

Spawn of obsession

Born of fear-induced hate

Legacy peered by none

The hydrogen bomb.
