I know I'm supposed to say,

“A Boy? Psh. They will never hurt me! No way!”

I'm supposed to hold my head up high,

But all I want to do is cry.

Why must I be so strong?

Why is being sad so wrong?

But do you want to hear the honest truth?

I am sick of being cold and 'aloof'.

That jerk hurt me,

But that's just not what you want to see.

You're friends with him too,

So the details got askew.

I don't want you to hate him,

I know the chances of that are slim.

But would it kill you to care?

It was him that caused this despair.

Yet you treat me like I'm fine,

You know that it a lie.

Apparently it's up to me to protect this heart of mine.

Remember when you told me to do it?

To take a chance, put my feelings on the line, to finally commit.
