breezy lullaby

as i pulsate through the trees
the breeze is breathing for me
it sings a lullaby as it
brushes through the tree’s leaves

a rush of reminiscing distracts me
the familiar scent of his neck
& the warm embrace cupping my chin
for the first time – swallowed in the sea

of memories & i don’t which way
i should go, cross the bridge
or burn it knowing that my instinct
is telling me to run away

it’s a tug of war: a catch 22
stay or leave – there will be hell
to pay & my priceless soul
can not be whole without you
