i remember that night
hearing the water lap
watching the ducks
sitting on the rocks

being in your arms
everything felt in place
it was the perfect moment
without the emotional

attachment (or so i thought)
feeling your heart beat
so close to mine that
i was barely breathing

watching the blur of red
passing the train tracks
as people (stars) glow in the dark

oblivious to the scene
of a boy holding a girl
(it meant more than you know)
