Take a Chance

Why do we open up our feelings

To those we love,

When we know, deep down

They could never love us back?

Why do we cry?

Our shed tears leaving salty tracks

Down our cheeks.

How is it

That one small phrase

Can cause our hearts to shatter

Into a million tiny pieces?

But

Once every so often

We are able to have those three words

Whispered back to us.

Even then

Tears are shed,

Not because of a bad thing.

No.

These are tears of joy.

So,

Take the chance.

Tell the one you love

Your true feelings.

You never know

That one special person
