Semi-angst about regualted school life... sort of. Hope you like it! Thanks to SpikedTheCoffeeWithIdiocy for the wonderful source of Inspiration and to Xavier Honre for the Betareading (seriously, Thank You).

.:Gel Pens:.

I still use gel pens,

But the neon colours of primary school

Are now replaced by the uniform black and industrial blue

Of state exams and the slowof progression years

That pave the way touniversity.

But they still spew lyrics

Across my pages.

Looking at my copybooks:

You'd almost think blank margins

Were a sin,

As quotes and doodles scribble a din,

A noise that fills my ears,

A noise that’s been present for years,

But onemade of absolute silence.

I blank out and space away,

To a place where getting an A

Doesn’t make you a freak

Or an F of Failure doesn’t speak

Of genuine intelligence.

Finding equilibrium is sometimes more trouble than it’s worth,

Chaos to me gave birth.

Life is complied of plasters,

Each one hiding pain from my laughter.

Their doubts in my abilities corrode,

Burning holes within my soul.

They don’t listen to a word I say because they think I’m angry...

Anger is nothing but pain,

In their obvious disdain,

Withmy lack of success to measure up,

Andmy lack of motivation to crack open textbooks.

Where’s the romantic life I dream to lead,

Inthis regulated life where Ibear a leash?

Nothing is the way they make it seem.

Life doesn’t liveas it’s played onsilver screens.

I’m disappointed in their disappointmentwithmy disappointmentin everything.

Maybe I’m just too weak,

For this harsh world, to even speak.

Maybe that’s why I retreat,

Into my shell like a shy little girl;

Into my own little make-believe world

That I don’t dare attempt escape.

I still use gel pens,

But the neon colours of primary school

Are now replaced by the uniform black and industrial blue

Like so many aspects of life...

So there you go, what did you think of it? And do I need a new summary?

Oh well, Thanks for the hit!

YaY!
