Okay, so this guy in my class was all up in my face about getting an idea for project that we had to write, and I said all I could do were stories. So after a while, I got all high and full of myself (and really annoyed). I said "I can come up with a story for any sentence you give me". And so guess what he did? He gave me a sentence: "The girl walked." This is what I got.
It took all her courage and couple of seconds’ preparation for her to look behind her for the stranger, but she saw no one. She was being paranoid; the man had never followed her at all. She turned back to the light as it changed and hurried across the street; feeling the panic lift from her chest, she walked with a more confident air.
But suddenly, her blood stopped racing through veins and she felt her eyes widen in shock. Her head turned of its own accord and she looked directly behind her. The sound of screeching tires seemed distant until she was knocked back with enough force to shatter bones. She hit the pavement next, but the realization was far away; she knew what she had seen.
The man was on the crosswalk behind her in a crowd of people, his sight locked on her. Her view was engulfed in red now, but she could still see him. He was now kneeling beside her with midnight wings to match his eyes.
