Hey there! To start off I wanna thank you (whoever you are) for taking your time and giving this story a shot. I hope that you’ll find your time spend reading it worth while.
Also: ARGH, I know! Having four, other stories here, I’m still putting this up. I really need to do something about all the ideas popping in my head. But frankly, this one was swimming in my mind for quite some time, but I never thought of writing it. The reason for this being most likely the fact, that this story is different in almost every aspect then the ones I’ve already uploaded. To start off: it has nothing to do with fantasy and there will be no fights in it (well, at least not the type those of you who read my other stories got used to).
Then why write it now, you may ask. Quite frankly, I’m not sure I have the answer. Perhaps it’s the effect of reading too much romantic manga lately or the influence of ‘not so long ago’ Valentine’s Day? Truly, I have no idea, but I just suddenly got the urge to finally let this out of my system and… well, TADAM! XD
IMPORTANT: Before I’ll invite you to the story itself, there’s just one thing I want to ask you guys and that is to review once you read, because this is pretty much my first attempt at romance, so I’d like to know what should be improved. Also, with so many stories already, if the popularity of this one won’t be satisfactory, I may put it on hold, so if you like it and want to know what happens next, tell me about it.
The first chapter is more of an introduction to some of the more important characters (more will be appearing as the story proceeds), so sorry if you feel there’s little romance. I assure you later on there’s gonna be much more. And with clearing that up, I believe the only thing left to do is to invite you to read the first chapter of “Hideki’s Harem”!
Chapter
#1: Joyride, Arrival and a Surprise Meeting
Spring. While other seasons have their own charm, this one is certainly the most awaited for by one Ayakarimono Hideki, a sixteen-year-old boy on the brink of starting high school. After passing his entrance exams (A/N: but just barely), he and his friends decided they deserve vacation somewhere out of town. And warm, as they had no desire waiting for the summer. At this point, many of you have probably started thinking ‘what the hell I care about some Hideki guy?’… and if you did, then you wouldn’t be all too different from tens of other people. His short, brown hair and green eyes didn’t make him stand out in the crowd, he has no talent for sports, his grades are average at best, he has no luck in love… and, apparently, he’s the hero of this story.
As the morning sun slowly crept into his room by the window, he murmured something under his nose, having the alarm cloak ring in his ears. Mumbling a few more words that would most likely not please the censors, he covered his head with a pillow, trying to drift off back to the dream world. Alas his efforts proven to be in vial as a sudden yell snapped him out of his fatigue completely, followed by something landing on his back, almost making his spine snap in turn.
“ARGH!” he screamed as his head shoot to the sky, his tongue dangling out of his mouth, while something heavy sat on his back, pinning his middle-body into the bed. “Hinako, what in the name of SonGoku, do you think you’re doing!” he yelled without even turning around. He knew the voice that let out a battle cry just a moment ago too well to not recognize it. “Get off, damn you!”
“How rude” came a teasingly annoyed voice. “Is that any way to greet a friend, who went through all the trouble of waking you up?” the girl questioned, making Hideki rest his left cheek on the bed, while sweat dropping: “Oh yeah, and I suppose jumping on someone with no reason is a perfectly polite wake-up call. What are you doing in my room anyway?” he asked, finally shifting his gaze over his shoulder, to look at his friend.
“Don’t be such a baby” replied the girl, crossing her arms. Her medium-length, purple hair was decorated with a dark-blue headband, while her hazel eyes were set on the boy she was still sitting on. Currently she was wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow waistcoat on that, light-brown mini-skirt and high, yellow boots, as opposed to Hideki’s dinosaur pajamas. Alas the boy did not noted much of her dress for as his gaze traveled a little lower, a blush covered his face as he realized the t-shirt was showing the girl’s curves pretty good. And the fact that his friend’s arms were supporting a rather well-developed chest certainly did not help to support his fashion-focus either. He turned away embarrassed, feeling his heart pounding, while the other teenager continued: “Get dressed and grab your bags or we’ll be late for the train! Tansei and Makeru are already waiting!” and with that she finally got off, freeing the boy and exiting the room.
Hideki slowly rose back to his feet and reached for his clothes. Putting on his short, brown pants and a white shirt with some, Incan symbols on the back, he grabbed a filled backpack and a traveling bag, heading downstairs. As he entered the kitchen, his eye twitched as the sight of Hinako and two boys their age, having a fest. The first guy was a blonde with his hair short and sky-blue eyes, who raised his hand in a greeting gesture, accompanied with a simply ‘hey’. His clothes consisted of white pants with short, trouser legs and black t-shirt with a white kanji for ‘dream guy right here’ on its front. The other, male visitor didn’t even bothered to bless Hideki with a hello as he just kept on pushing a long sandwich into his mouth.
This boy, with long, black hair, clipped in a ponytail, green eyes and a huge, round nose, was about halfway through with his dish, yet the sandwich didn’t seem to sink any deeper. Hideki merely sweat dropped at the sight and spoke up, slightly annoyed: “What are you free-loaders doing in my kitchen?” he asked propping himself against the end of the sandwich, somehow managing to pushing it further as his hand accidentally slipped, quickly making the ponytail’s face turn blue, while his hands and legs began waving to all sides.
With a quick chop, the boy shut his mouth, now swallowing what was already inside, as fast as he could, only to take a deep breath once he was done. The other three observed the scene, not sure as to how they should react. And then, one moment of silence later, the ponytail spoke up: “Your mom let us in when she went to work! And what the hell are you trying to do, you ass-wipe, kill me?”
“It’s your own fault, Makeru” the blonde boy pointed calmly. “You always bite more then you can chew. That’s why you’ll never get a girlfriend. Well, that and because your face looks like gorilla’s after brain transplant” he added quickly with a laugh, while the ponytail’s eye twitched: “It’s times like this that make me wonder why we’re friends. Besides, get off my case, not everyone can be popular and handsome like you” he complained, turning his head away from the blonde, while crossing his arms in a way they covered the head of a green dragon that was decorating his yellow t-shirt. “Now lets get going. I’d sure hate to kick your butts for making me miss my train to paradise” he chuckled, making the other boys smirk, while Hinako covered her eyes and shook her head in negation, while a drop of sweat run down it.
Certainly the four made one of the weirdest group of friends, at least in their hometown area. It was beyond many of their classmates understanding why people, so drastically different, could do as much as to tolerate each other, leave out claiming friendship. But life often likes to joke around and unusual situations prove to be very bounding, even for people representing complete opposites of one another. Actually, the whole story behind the forming of this ‘dream team’ is quite an interesting one, but I gotta leave you guys something to look forward to, so let us move on, saving that for later (A/N: ain’t I evil incarnated?).
While the journey to the train station proven uneventful, skipping Hinako’s straight punch into Makeru’s face the instant he tried looking down her skirt, the four found themselves compartment of their own and sat down as their transportation slowly left its resting place, heading off into the distance. The trip was supposed to be a longer one, thus it was no surprise that only an hour into it Tansei was already asleep, his face decorated with the ponytail’s ‘masterpiece’. What did surprise the two, conscious people though was Hideki writing something down in his notebook.
Hinako, who was sitting right next to him, smiled evilly as she raised and dropped her eyebrows several times before snatching the notebook away from her friend and gazed at the first page. Hideki only managed to yell as much as a ‘hey’ as the girl turned her back towards him, stopping his jump with a foot on his face, keeping the boy’s work just out of his reach. Having little time she had, she read out loud for Makeru to hear as well: “Chapter One: The boy and the dragon” and with that she skimmed down a few more lines, turning around again with a raised eyebrow: “Hey, you’re writing a story or something?” she asked her friend, who quickly took his notebook back.
Hideki’s cheeks became slightly red as he gazed at the ground, whispering a weak ‘yeah’. While the purplehead was too shocked to respond, Makeru quickly took manners into his own hands, speaking up with a lecturing voice: “Why? We’re heading towards one of the most popular, vacation spots in the region! There’s gonna be babes there, man! Babes! You think we can miss-out a chance like that? We’re gonna have to go to the beach, marvel the ladies, swim a bit, marvel the ladies, get suntan, marvel the ladies…”
“Look, you can feel free to do whatever you want” Hideki replied calmly, though a big sweat drop appeared on his face as he backed away from his friend, slightly disgust. “But with exams and everything I had little time to do this and I want to sacrifice some time to writing. I already told you that I always wanted to become a writer. It’s not like I’m gonna stay locked in our room, but I’m not gonna participate in your sick games…”
“Isn’t that cute” Makeru responded with a smirk as he glanced at Hinako. “He thinks he has a say in this…”
“Leave him alone” the girl shoot back seriously, patting Hideki on the back. “At least he’s following his dreams. He has an ambition, unlike you, whose only goal in life is to peep on girls, pervert” but as she said so, a devilish smile appeared on the ponytail’s face as his eyes settled on her: “Funny you should say that, coz it almost sounds like you believe I couldn’t see your panties when you blocked Hideki with your leg…”
“Die!” Hinako snapped immediately, grabbing him by the neck, making his eyes pop out. And who knows, perhaps for Makeru this trip would really end right there if a sudden voice didn’t stop the purplehead, making her loosen her grip: “Ummm… excuse me” came a shy apology, making all three turned to the entrance from where the voice came. Upon doing so, Hideki’s face turned slightly red for the second time this day at the sight of the newcomer, a girl their age with long, red hair, made into a braid and hazel eyes, hidden behind thin glasses. She was wearing a blue shirt with few, white stripes going horizontally through its center and a black, mini-skirt. “If it’s not a problem… could I… join you?” she finished hesitantly, doing her best to avoid eye-contact.
“Sure!” Makeru replied, immediately lunging towards the girl with his eyes turned into hearts and his tongue out. Luckily, before he managed to reach his target, Hinako’s dropkick on the head brought him back to Earth… literally: “Oh, no you don’t” she announced angrily with her arms crossed and foot on her friend's head. Quickly she shifted her gaze back at the arrival, pointing beneath her feet: “Look, feel free to join us, as long as this idiot doesn’t bother you…”
“Thank you” the other girl bowed deeply. “Umm… my name is Taikou Ayame.”
“Nice to meet ya!” the purplehead replied cheerfully. “My name is Hageshi Hinako, that’s Ayakarimono Hideki, Sezoku Tansei and this guy…” she pointed at Makeru, but after a moment of silence, she added quickly: “Is not worth mentioning.”
“Hey!” the ponytail quickly shoot up from the floor with Hinako’s foot off his head. Instantly he regained his posture and taking the other girl’s hand softly, he kissed it gently with glowing eyes: “I’m Tsutanai Makeru” he announced, while Ayame’s face turned a bright, red color. The purple-haired girl only rolled her eyes at this, but decided to keep quiet.
Slightly unsure, the redhead sat down in front of Hideki, having the sleeping form of Tansei separate her from Makeru, sitting to her left. The new girl instantly gazed at the floor, her face still a shade of red and she shook, slightly nervous. Noticing this, Hinako spoke up, trying to break the uncomfortable silence: “So, Taikou-chan, where are you heading?”
Ayame looked up at the other girl, confused a bit, and then replied in a barely hearable whisper: “To K-kazamiya (A/N: just some Japanese place I made up, that probably doesn’t exist, but I needed to name it something)” and as her words reach the purplehead, she quickly responded with a cheerful voice: “That’s what I call coincidence, that’s our destination as well! Looks like we’re gonna spent the whole trip together then!”
“Y-yes” the redhead nodded weakly, blushing slightly and then glanced to the side, staring at the blonde boy’s face markings, making the ponytail instantly lighten up: “You like it? This is my masterpiece, if I do say so myself! I’m one, artistic soul, aren’t I?” he asked, grinning widely, while Ayame had no idea how to respond.
“Oh please” Hinako cut in with a breaking voice. “If anyone around here has an artistic soul, it’d be Hideki. Writing a story is much harder then decorating someone’s face with drawings at the level of a five-year-old” she added, pointing at the boy beside her in the process. Surprisingly enough, that statement seemed to interest the redhead: “You’re a writer, Ayakarimono-san?” she asked, making the teen in question freeze from shock for a moment.
“Well…” he began, scratching the back of his head. “I always dreamed of becoming a writer, but to say I’m one would be too much. I only started writing my first, real story. So far I only wrote some short tales and articles for the school’s newspaper…”
“Ah, yes, the famous ‘Ten vegetable to can’t do without’ arc” Makeru joked with dreamy eyes. “It was so…” but at this point he was cut of by Hinako’s foot, that meet his face, while a vein pulsed on the purplehead’s forehead: “Would you just shut up?”
“Actually, I think it’s great” Ayame announced with a warm smile, making the other three teens gazed at her surprised, with Makeru still supporting Hinako’s foot. “Following your dream that is. It takes courage and strong will to not back down from your own path. Talking about your dream so freely and purchasing it… it’s really admirable” she added, making a slight blush appear on Hideki’s face. The girl went on, yet her smile suddenly turned into a weak one, as she lowered her head: “I actually envy you, Ayakarimono-san, coz since I was little, I dreamt the same dream. But once I wrote my first piece, the teacher said it wasn’t very good, so I decided to stop.”
“Why’s that?” Hideki instantly asked, making Ayame look up again. “Because one person criticized you? It’s not possible to write a story everyone will like! Furthermore, you’re bound to make mistakes when you start doing something new. What’s important is to learn on those mistakes to not commit them again! If you do follow your dreams, then certainly sooner or later you’ll come across obstacles. When that time comes, try to overcome them! Don’t you think your dream is worth following?” he asked passionately, this time giving the girl a warm smile of his own.
His words struck the redhead like thunder, making her heart beat faster, while her face flushed once more. She managed to smile back at the now excited boy, who in turn blushed as well at the sight: “You’re really something, Ayakarimono-kun” Ayame announced, suddenly stroke by the suffix she used: “I-I meant –san… Ayakarimono-san!” she tried to defend herself quickly, nervous to no end. Seeing this, Hinako again decided to come to her aid: “Relax. We’re going to the same place and gonna spend some time together… might as well get accustomed to one another. How about we spend the Spring Break together?” she purposed, earning a surprised glance from the glasses wearing girl.
“I…” the redhead began shyly, throwing a quick look at Hideki, making the blush cover her face again. “I…”
“Come on, Ayame-chan, it’ll be fun!” Makeru encouraged with a disturbing grin.
“Yeah, besides it’ll be nice to have another girl around” the purple-haired girl added.
Ayame kept turning her head, following the ones that spoke up, ending its travel on Hideki once more, almost as if she awaited his opinion. The boy felt his face becoming red, while nervousness claimed him also: “Well… I think it’s not such a bad idea. You seem to be traveling alone and certainly the more the merrier…” he stated, scratching the back of his head, while his heart pounded a few times.
“It’s decided then!” Hinako announced with a smile, not even waiting for the redhead to say a word.
The rest of the trip was spend on talking (A/N: with a surprising turn that Ayame was even staying at the same place the foursome did), playing cards and Tansei smacking Makeru’s head once he woke up and got himself a mirror. The train reached its destination few hours later, with the sun already high in the sky. The teens grabbed their bags and exited the compartment, landing on a single, small platform that made most of the entire train station. A narrow road led up the hill which, according to the blonde, was supposed to get them straight to the only town nearby.
“Wow, this sure is a middle of nowhere” Makeru noticed, looking around. “I bet there’s even no TV…”
“Why would you need that for?” Hideki asked, sweat dropping. “Weren’t you the one, who implied the only things he’ll do is stay on the beach and stare at the girls?” he added, making his friend instantly throw a scared look at Ayame, pointing his finger at the male writer: “I have no idea what he’s talking about!” he assured her, scaring her in stead.
“Actually, now that you mention it, I do recall Makeru saying something like that” Tansei cut it, rubbing his chin in a thoughtful manner, making the ponytailed boy snap: “Shut up, dunderheads! How can you say stuff like that? It’s almost as bad as you’d tell Hinako I was planning to peep on her back in junior high when we went camping!” but the sudden realization struck fear into him as both his breath and heart froze.
Instantly the purplehead threw a punch to the side, aimed at Makeru’s face, but the boy suddenly ducked under the assault, making the girl’s attack hit the wall beside him. As her face froze, she quickly retreated her arm, flipping it as if that’d shake the pain: “You ducked!” she yelled accusingly, while her friend straightened up again. “You don’t duck when you deserve to get hit!”
“Sorry, it’s reflex! You think I enjoy getting the crap beat out of me all the time?”
The five teens walked through the town with Tansei guiding them, aiding himself with a map. After a short marsh, they reached the outskirts of the city, with a road going into the forest. According to the blonde, their target was ‘dead ahead’, thus they continued forward, their final destination appearing between the trees merely a moment later.
The hotel they were all staying in turned out to be a two-floor boarding house. With a big ‘Sunshine Saloon’ written in kanji above the entrance, the light, yellow walls gave Tansei an impression like the sun itself was being reflected in them. As they walked through the gates, they entered the gardens, filled with Sakura Trees, providing the rain of petals to greet them, while the sound of flowing water echoed from the back of the hotel.
The five entered what was to become their rest place for the upcoming few weeks, finding themselves in a rather wide hall, decorated with plants that stood near the wall, and a picture here and there. Tansei slowly walked to the counter and hit the bell, signalizing their arrival. The ring ran through the hallways as the group waited… and waited… and waited… and waited… and waited… and…
“For crying out loud!” Makeru finally exploded and pushing his friend aside began punching the bell like crazy. The others sweat dropped at this and decided to not take any actions. And so, they waited… and waited… and: “Yes?” came a sudden question. The ponytail looked around, confused, but still there was no-one in sight. As an image of a ghost came into his mind, his body shivered, while he spoke up: “W-who’s there?”
“Me” the voice rang from behind the counter and as Makeru gazed in that direction, a striking view of a wrinkled face with white eyes and a storm of curly, grey hair struck his eyes, making him shriek in fear as he jumped back, hitting he wall with his back. Breathing quickly after suffering a heart-attack, his shocked expression didn’t change, forcing Tansei to take over again: “I’m sorry, that my friend’s an idiot. We’re here for Sezoku group reservation” he announced, speaking to the woman of an old age, whose height didn’t even exceed that on which the top of the counter stood. The blonde quickly realized she stood behind it for some time and only pulled herself up a moment ago, giving his friend a fright, with her feet flowing freely above the floor.
“Ah, yes, Sezoku” the lady repeated and pulling herself up, she sat on the counter, pushing an opened book towards Tansei. The boy only took a pen and began writing in his name, while the woman continued: “You took a room for four people, room number 205. It’s on the second floor…”
“Wait, Hageshi-san, you mean you’re gonna be living with the boys?” Ayame asked in a shrieking voice, partly covering her mouth to show the scandal of the situation. Hinako turned towards her with a depressed expression showing on her face, as she explained: “We got low funds, so there was no, other choice then to get one room with dumb, dumber and dumbest…”
“Who’s the dumbest?” Makeru asked curiously, while Hideki glanced over at him, noticing he was still propping his back against the wall: “Take a guess.”
“Hageshi-san, I believe I can help” Ayame went on shyly, blushing slightly in the process. “My room was meant for two people. I was suppose to come here with my sister, who was coming back from America for a short while, but she got held in her work and couldn’t come, so I ended here alone. One bed will be available.”
“Seriously?” Hinako’s eyes lit up as she gazed at her new, best friend, while Makeru let out a groan. Instantly his face welcomed a wide smile as his hands gave the purplehead thumbs though, as the violent girl ‘graced’ him with a death glare.
“I guess it’s decided then” Hideki summed up, reaching for his bag, but the old lady’s voice stopped him in his tracks: “Don’t, boy! In our hotel we don’t let guests do any sort of work! That’s what we have bellboys for!” and with that she picked out a whistle, blowing into it. Once again ‘our hero’ sweat dropped, frozen into place.
A second later running could be heard coming down the dark hallway. A figure rose from the shadows, speeding straight to their current location, yet before it manage to reach its destination, the new arrival slipped and falling onto its butt, it slid the rest of the way. Tansei looked dumb-fooled, Hinako followed Hideki’s example and sweat dropped, while Makeru gazed out front with his tongue workings as a carpet for the hallway, while his eyes almost went out of orbits, for the person that currently sat before them, rubbing its bottom, was certainly nothing they have expected.
For one thing, the gender was totally wrong, for the figure that emerged from the darkness was a girl that seemed around their age with long, black hair and hazel eyes, that in the weak light gave an impression of being gold. She was wearing a red and white outfit with short skirt and high, white socks, with the ‘Sunshine Saloon’ logo on both her back and sleeves.
Realizing the situation, the girl instantly shoot back up, saluting, with a loud cry: “I’m terribly sorry for the delay! My name is Buzamo Sakura! Please, let me handle your luggage!”
So, to sum up, the bellboy is called by blowing a whistle Hideki noted in his mind, still pretty shocked by the turn of events. And isn’t a boy he added as the bellgirl reached for Tansei’s bag, but the blonde quickly pulled it out of her reach: “Really, it’s oka…”
“Here you go” announced Hinako, tossing her bag at the girl, almost making her fall due to the weight. The three boys froze upon gazing at their friend, sweat dropping as an emotionless ‘despicable’ escaped their mouths. Makeru was the first to get out of the shock, quickly adding: “That is so low! One shouldn’t force a babe to carry around luggage!”
“What am I, chopped liver?” the purplehead snapped as her eyes became pupiless, while teeth turned into fangs.
“Why didn’t you greet our customers, Tamao?” the older lady asked while turning around as the teenagers disappeared from their view, having Sakura lead them upstairs. A figure, standing in the shadows, shivered, hiding even deeper behind the door frame. The lady let out a sigh, lowering her head, as she spoke up again: “I brought you here, hoping that you’ll overcome your fear of boys. How do you plan on doing that if you’re not willing to even talk to other people?”
“B-but…” the figure responded with a shaking voice as quiet as a whisper. “There… there were three b-boys out there… and that violet-haired girl acted s-so… strangely… I… I’m sorry, grandma” the shadow looked away, doing its best to avoid eye-contact.
The old lady only let out a sigh, but said nothing, as the figure gazed at the floor.
---The next day---
“Beach time!” the three boys cheered as they wrapped their arms around one another, forming a wall. Hinako only stared blankly at the sight, snapping a moment later: “Wait a minute, Hideki, you too?” she yelled at the realization, while the boy in question gave out an apologizing smile, making the purplehead drop her head. She glanced to her left, where Ayame stood, hoping for some sort of mental aid, but the glasses-wearing girl only smiled warmly, without taking her eyes of the guys: “They sure are lively today…”
“Yeah, well, ecchi thoughts give guys wings” Hinako murmured disappointed as she followed the three stooges towards exit with the redhead close behind, giggling. As they left the gardens of the hotel, Tansei took over, leading them to the, as Makeru called it, ‘promised land’. After a not so long trip, walking mostly down the hill, the fivesome reached the golden sands of the beach with the wind gently ruffling the sea surface.
While the spot was not too crowded, the number of people occupying the seaside was still relatively high, thus Makeru quickly took action, aiming to claim a piece of the beach as theirs with a loud battle cry, while his companions only sweat dropped. The rest of the teens followed him calmly, placing their blankets next to his soon after, while Ayame opened an umbrella to provide some shade on the opened sand.
“Okay, we’re here!” Hideki cheered, throwing his hands to the sky, yet after a moment of silence, he quickly added, feeling embarrassment building up in him: “Now what?”
“Naturally we’re going to swim a bit” Tansei replied matter-of-factly, taking off his shirt and shoes. As he reached for his pants, Hinako interfered, smacking him on the back of his head: “What the hell do you think you’re doing? Don’t just strip in the middle of the beach! Go someplace without people, pinhead!”
The blonde only rubbed the spot he got hit a few times, sending the girl an annoyed look: “I have my… swimsuit… underneath, dammit! I mean, who’d come to the beach without putting his swimming knickers beforehand?” he asked and then froze at the loud ‘oops’ that followed his statement. Tansei threw Hideki a bored glance, while his friend scratched the back of his head embarrassed. With a sign, the blonde shooed the other boy with his hand, his head lowered: “Just go someplace without people and change. Make it quick, coz I bet the water’s great.”
At hearing this the young writer nodded and grabbing his swimming pants, he went to the nearby bushes, located just outside the beach, near the road. If lighting would travel several hundred times slower, one might say he changed in its speed. Ready for ‘beach fun’, he took his time however walking out of his ‘changing room’ and into the track. Yet, he did not manage to get far as before he even made a single step back to the golden sands of the seaside, a sudden ‘kyah’, followed by a hard crush, send him straight to the ground.
Now laying on his back, Hideki felt his body aching and let out a quiet ‘ugh’ at the pain. Slowly his eyes opened, an image they saw a moment later striking like thunder: right on him laid a girl around his age with medium-length, blonde hair, reaching her shoulders, who stared at him with her hazel eyes, nearly hypnotizing the boy with her gaze. The felt of warmth coming from her body made his heart race as the deepest blush ever covered his face. He could feel sweat appearing all over his body as two, soft balls squeezed against his chest.
In less then few seconds, the girl lifted herself up, yet even then the sudden sensation didn’t seem to disappear as his heart just kept on pounding, while a huffing sound escaped his mouth: Just now… this girl. Damn, she’s hot! was the first thought that came to his mind, which seemed to take a break for several moments earlier. And those breasts! Hot damn! Wait, what the hell am I thinking? No dirty thoughts, no dirty thoughts, no dirty thoughts! Hinako’s gonna kill me! and surprisingly enough, the image of his friend beating the crap out of him allowed the boy to come down to Earth, enough at least to realize the mysterious blonde extended her hand towards him.
“Sorry, I was in a bit of a hurry and you just jumped out of those bushes” she announced, while Hideki took her palm, which proven to be a bad idea afterwards as the sudden contact only made his heart beat anew. The girl seemed to noticed his hand got sweaty, but decided to ignore it as she helped the boy back to his feet, reaching for her bicycle a moment later.
Only now did the young writer noticed that she was wearing a revealing track suit, that exposed her curves nicely, starting the sensation all over again, this time with images in his head: Argh, not good! Think of something completely asexual, moron! he ordered himself, sadly to his great dismal, his mind was too busy occupied thinking the exact opposite to comply.
“Kumiko-chan, wait!” a deep, male’s voice snapped him out of this thoughts, directing his attention up the hill, from where it came. The instant Hideki did so, he spotted a boy older then him, running down towards the place the young writer stood. He had short, black, Elvis-like hairdo, while a pair of sunglasses covered his eyes. Dressed in a mostly black outfit, his appearance certainly did not encourage to stand in his way: “We’re not finished yet!”
“Yes, we are!” the blonde girl shoot back, sticking out her tongue as she looked over the shoulder, already prepared to paddle away on her bike. Her body froze for a moment however and as a devilish smile appeared on her face, she leaned to her right, kissing Hideki on the cheek: “Besides, I’m already dating this guy!” she stated, going off into the distance at the speed of light.
“What?” the Elvis wannabe roared at the news, anger twisting his face as he came closer to the spot the girl just left. Naturally, any idiot in Hideki’s place would realize by now that staying was a bad idea, but not our hero. No, he was way too shocked to even move a muscle. The sound of his heart beating now rang in his ears, while his lungs forgot they need to function for a moment. Certainly his blood began moving faster within his body, covering his face completely red. Ultimately, this resulted in the following:
“You, damn playboy!” the older boy yelled, punching the young writer straight in the face, knocking him out cold. And this is all Hideki could recall, until a familiar voice reached his ears, with something slapping him softly on the cheek: “Hideki, are you alright? Hey, man, wake up!”
His green eyes slowly opened, noticing Tansei kneeling next to him, a worried expression covering the blonde’s face: “Welcome back among the living. Are you okay?”
“I think so” Hideki responded, rubbing his jaw which began stinging a little. “What happened?”
“I should be asking that” Tansei shoot back, helping his friend get back to his feet. “You were gone for so long, I’ve decided to check if everything was alright and here I find you laying on the ground unconscious. What the hell took place? And by the way: you look like you were run over or something…”
“Ah!” memories flashed in the young writer’s mind instantly at those words: the bike, the girl, the… Elvis, apparently. The recollection of the events from merely few minutes ago echoed in his head, especially the image of a certain, blonde girl, which as the boy noted, was the prettiest one he saw in his life: Now I remember, that girl crushed into me with her bike! Damn, she was cute… and sexy! She kissed me! She… she… and then realization hit him again: That bitch set me up!
“Earth to Hideki” Tansei waved his hand right before the young writer’s face, interrupting his trail of thoughts. “Look, sorry to bother, but it seems that you’re okay now, so lets get the hell back to the beach! We came her to have fun, not zoom out for no reason! Come on!” and with that he pushed his friend before him.
The image of the blonde cutie appeared in Hideki’s mind again as he did as Tansei said and the boy couldn’t help but blush at just the thought, even though he really didn’t want to. Perhaps I’ll see her again he wondered, a thought that filled him with both joy and fear.
And so his feet felt the sandy surface bellow, as the two boys walked through the crowd, back to their friends. The day was still young and their Spring Break was only beginning…
---to be continued---
And this concludes chapter one. Hope you had at least as much fun reading it as I had writing it and once more I wish to ask you to review before leaving. It’d really mean a lot, especially since I want to know what should be improved on. And, if you like, feel free to try out my other stories.
With the first chapter done, I also feel that I should issue something that may be considered a warning: as most of you probably noticed, this is a humor/romance story. As such I wanna say that I’ll be trying to balance both of those elements in it. I’m hoping to do something slightly different then most, romantic manga do: while there will be deeper moments, I’ll also not throw comedy away at one point. Another thing is that while this story has a main character, I’ll be aiming to not make this a ‘one man tale’. Hideki is the protagonist and naturally this piece will be focused on him, but I assure you others around him won’t be just a background. Their lives will be moving forward as well and each of the more important character will have his or hers turning points along the way (at least in that regard this story is similar to my other pieces XD). Lastly: while the main genres are humor and romance, considering the type of story, drama and slice of life is unavoidable. Using manga terminology, there’ll also be some ecchi elements and harem (taking the title into the account: duh XD).
And I believe that’s all I wanted to write about this piece for the time being. I truly hope you found it worth your time and that you’ll bless me with a review once you’re finished reading. Until next time, but till then:
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
