Your promises will never be fulfilled

as gunshots fill the sky

You push your laws upon us

and ask them ‘How?’ and ‘Why?’

You claim to work for a safe future

as innocents taste blood and salt

You try to find a scapegoat

on whom to place the fault

You blame it on religion,

their heritage, their race

But in a world so seeped in evil,

does terror have a face?

You sit there unaffected,

safe in your house of white

You make your bad decisions

while others fight your fight

Explosions tear at the sky

and you’re baffled by it all

And in your confusion,

more innocent people fall

You drop some bombs and declare war

in supposed retribution

And yet you fail to understand

that God is our solution
