It has become evident

that we were never right

The mindless games we often played

have trained us only to fight.

Distanced from suburbia

The only chance at normalcy

Behind a hedge we peer at life

we claim that we had formerly.

Never mind them on our heels

run and don’t look back

Never let them talk you down

with all the things you lack.

Leave behind that saddened life

we caught a bus in town

because in the this life of pain and hurt

There is no middle ground.
