Lovers come and lovers go
An infinite chain of impermanence
And you don't love me, this I know
Despite my apparent innocence.
Your eyes vow that you'll stay with me
Through every hardship yet to come;
Your voice is like a symphony,
Pleading with me to succumb.
But why should I put faith in this
When every man who's ever said
He fell into love's sweet abyss
Just wanted to get her in bed?
