Let’s stir things up, shall we?
“People who chastise others for being gay are usually trying to deny or cover their own deep rooted homosexual tendencies.” He whispered. “And as it so happens I’m not gay, I’m bisexual, not that my preference really matters.”
“It’s all the same, shut up swot boy.” leered the older and taller boy, snatching the book from under Kiyoshi’s nose, he clenched his fists but did not move. “Wutchya reading’ eh bookworm? I bet you’d live in the library if you could.” He snickered.
“Senpai… I think I’d appreciate you giving me my book back now.” He tried to keep his voice as calm as he could, despite becoming incredibly frustrated.
“I think I’d appreciate.” Mimicked the bully, suddenly he grabbed Kiyoshi by the collar and held him close. Kiyoshi struggled a little against the grip. “God you’re such a nerd, you’re so damn lucky Takai keeps you on a…”
“Oi.” Aiko said gruffly, she’d only just entered the library, but was on the scene in seconds: internal tracking radar? “Leave him alone.”
“Mitsukawa-hime.” The boy smirked and dropped Kiyoshi, a little too literally, and he tumbled out of sight behind his chair.
“It’s Aiko.” She said determinedly. “And what the hell, he’s half your height lay off. Or what: a muscle brain like you needs me to teach you a lesson?” She braced her fist. Really, had anyone been watching, the situation was quite comical.
Short and small, Aiko was even littler than the boy she was defending, yet here she was defying a student older, larger, and more muscled than her. He glared and pulled up his sleeve ready to fight her. Kiyoshi spoke up, having peered over the top of the table.
“If you hit HER you’re sure to be expelled.” He said. The boy did a double take.
“The nerd’s got a point.” He grumbled. “You got off lucky this time.” He glared, not at Aiko, who was still posed for a fight. “But Mitsukawa-hime and Takai won’t help you forever brat.” And he took off, without a look back.
“Ugh guys like that really piss me off.” Aiko growled, tossing her long red ponytail and turning to face Kiyoshi, who had pulled himself to his feet. She recognised him immediately, honestly she hadn‘t noticed until that point who he was, but knew he was small and being bullied. Maternal instinct had kicked in and forced her to protect him even if she was still mad at him. He was dusting himself off. “You okay?”
“I’m fine and I don’t need your protection Mitsukawa-san, okay.” He began to pack up his books, thoroughly disgruntled at having been manhandled in such a way.
“It’s Ai-ko.” She grumbled. “You know, for a guy who spies on girls in the shower and spends the rest of his time readin’ you’re pretty haughty.” Aiko smirked. “I think we got off on the wrong foot.” He stared in shock as the revered Mitsukawa Aiko extended her hand. “Oi I’m introducing myself here pay attention.”
“I… I don’t need your protection.” He repeated, confused by her action, not taking her hand.
“Who said anything about protection?” Aiko leaned over and helped him with the books, many of which had fallen to the floor. “I talk big but I’m a lousy fighter, my hair’s too long.” She smiled and pulled the ponytail forward to show him. “Major weakness in fighters.” She leaned over a little further and tugged at his own hair. “Yours too.” Though his black hair was nowhere near as long as Aiko’s red waist length mane, it came to just below his ears.
“Hey get off!” He said nervously, pulling away. So used to being bullied, he didn’t know how to socialize well… in fact he barely spoke to anyone except Kin. This girl seemed to be reaching out to him and it was beyond weird.
“Would you relax, I won’t bite… It’s Kozaki-kun, right?” Her voice was breathy and exasperated. “I know, here.” She removed her hair bobble and handed him it. He stared incredulously. “It’s probably long enough to tie back… it must get in the way… when you’re reading?” She thought about playfully adding ‘or peeping’ but decided that it probably had been an accident, perhaps it was best to let it go.
“Well it does but… hair ties are for girls and I am most certainly male.” Kiyoshi tucked his hair behind his ear, it was rather obvious that he was uncomfortable in present company.
“Okay well… suit yourself but, here.” She placed the elastic cloth in his bag. “In case you need it. Next time I see you I don’t want that mop in front of your eyes.” She laughed, and hurried off, her own hair now flowing freely. Kiyoshi found himself blushing.
‘No… I hate her remember. Kin hates her so I hate her. She messed up the rooms’ He thought strictly.
Endurance was a trait she was proud of. The physical taunting was something she handed well, so when she saw the note pinned to her dorm room door reading ‘DANSHIKO’ she just tore it down, looking up and down the corridor to see if anyone was around, then pocketed the note.
“I don’t care.” She said, unlocking her door. “I really don’t.” Though… it would have been a lot easier to not care, had she had someone to talk to.
“I hate detention.” Kin growled, storming into the room. “Take a hike Mikisagi.”
“You wish.” Miki yawned turning over on his bed, ignoring Kin’s request… well order. Tama Kin did not request anything. He scowled at the unwanted roommate before approaching Kiyoshi, who was as usual hidden behind a pile of books.
“Y’know… sometimes I forget what the hell you look like.” He grumbled pushing the books slightly apart to see his boyfriend. Kiyoshi was reading through a novel that hadn’t been assigned, his hair was pulled back in a ponytail. “Okay… what’re you wearing?”
“Hm? Oh hi Kin.” He mumbled distractedly.
“Oi, I’m talking to you.” He took Kiyoshi’s chin in a pencil grip and raised his face to meet his own. “Why are you wearing that thing, you look like a girl.”
“Oh uh… uhm… it’s nothing.” Kiyoshi quickly removed the bobble he’d been wearing. Aiko had been right and it had really picked up his reading pace, given that he didn’t have to keep batting it out of his eyes.
“Where’d you get it?”
“Nowhere?” He suggested kissing him to shut him up.
“Keep it clean you two, roommate here being severely grossed out.” Miki called out. Kin raised his middle finger at him and broke the kiss.
“Nice try.” He mumbled. “Now why are you wearing a hair-tie?”
“Mitsukawa-san said my hair was in the way, which it was, she gave me it. But if you don’t like it I won’t wear it.” Kin stepped back.
“Mitsukawa gave you that thing?” He growled. Angry Kin. “You realise she was insulting you?”
“I don’t think she…”
“She was calling you a nancy-boy, taking the piss because you swing my way.” He snatched the bobble and stood up, heading to the door.
“Kin don’t do anything you’re gonna regret!” Kiyoshi begged standing up and putting his book down.
Kin stormed down the hallways, people staring at him, he checked in the lounge… nope. He checked the cafeteria… nope. Miki and Kiyoshi caught up.
“Come on man just leave it.” Miki said.
“Kin-sama she really wasn’t being…” Kiyoshi mumbled his face flushed.
“Shut up.” He hammered hard on Aiko’s dorm-room door. “Mitsukawa open the hell up!” He ordered. A cough behind him alerted him as she had appeared, entering the corridor the opposite way to them.
“You hollered?” She smiled sweetly, knowing full well she was in trouble, but until she knew why she’d deny it like crazy. Kin pushed past Kiyoshi and Miki, glaring at her. He waved the bobble in front of her.
“What do you think you’re playing at? Nobody torments Kiyoshi okay!”
“Uh… side note, everyone torments Kiyoshi-kun.” Miki popped in. Aiko just shrugged.
“Kay.” She said, pushing past him and putting her key in the lock only to find chewing gum had been stuck in it. She sighed. “One of your immature pranks I suppose, Tama?”
“The hell? Unlike you I’m not a bully.”
“Really.” She mused. “I’m a bully now… Kozaki-kun, did I come across as threatening to you?” She locked eyes with Kiyoshi who was trying to avoid confrontation. He mumbled something.
“Leave him alone!” Kin growled.
“I’ll leave him alone…” Aiko smiled softly. “If he tells me to.”
“Well… tell her!” Kin barked, angry at being given orders.
“Kozaki-kun?” She prompted, and Kiyoshi could swear he was being torn in two by the glares.
“She really wasn’t bothering me… Kin-sama.” He muttered eventually, infuriating Kin and causing Aiko to smirk. Miki sighed, that had definitely been the wrong thing to say.
“Just tell her to leave you alone.”
“Mitsukawa-san… if you could please not…. I mean in future you should probably… that is to say…”
“I got it.” She nodded. “Now move outta my way all of you.” She ushered them sideways and Kin looked ready to thump her. Instead she ran at the door and it swung open.
“Impressive.” Cheered Miki.
“Thank you.” She rubbed her shoulder and went inside, leaving the three boys outside. Kin looked at Kiyoshi who avoided his eye.
“Come on, you. Mikisagi I don’t give a damn if you stay in the room, but you’ll be warped if you do.” He put one arm around Kiyoshi’s shoulder and lead him off. Miki grumbled. Why’d he have to have roommates that were involved?
A/n: KiyoshixAiko? I dunno… I like to cause trouble. Reviews are really important to me. Please and thank you?
