Loose Tongues
With anger comes a loose tongue,
Normal boundaries of censorship now undone.
All words spoken may be wrong,
But sometimes our courage is too strong.
Through friendship, bonds of silence are forged
And by no sword of gossip can it be unmade.
Our words and tongue held back in kind,
All of this to bathe in false light.
Words and tones hidden in time,
Our thoughts and feelings left inside.
Courage dulled by the bonds of power and friendship,
All sincere thoughts and comments held behind closed teeth.
