- Devil's Advocate

You ask what's wrong with me
You say you know I don't really believe in how I'm acting
You tell me I can't see
All you need that I'm lacking

Well maybe you're right, I don't believe in what I say
Maybe you're wrong, I know exactly where I fit
You say I'm the subject of all your praying
Maybe you'll save me, or maybe I'm just the devil's new advocate

You say I talk about things I shouldn't
I question what's right for argument's sake.
You say I'm headed to somewhere I can't come back from,
It's causing your heart to break

Well maybe you're right, I don't believe what I say
Maybe you're wrong, I know exactly where I fit
You say I'm the subject of all your praying
Maybe you'll save me, or maybe I'm just the devil's new advocate

Maybe it's wrong to put you through this
Maybe it's wrong to take you with me here
Slip away in to your care free bliss
Don't you cry another tear

Well maybe you're right, I don't believe what I say
Maybe you're wrong, I know exactly where I fit
You say I'm the subject of all your praying
Maybe you'll save me, or maybe I'm just the devil's new advocate

I'll take the blow, one more hit
The pathway's dark, bearly lit
But don't worry my dear, I'm almost there
I see it ahead, that fiery pit

Maybe you'll save me, or maybe I'm the new devil's advocate
