My Bleeding Heart

Rip out my bleeding heart and leave it here to die.

Step on it once or twice and kick it to the side.

Don’t worry if I bleed, or scream, or cry.

Just keep on doing what you’re told and

Leave my bleeding heart to lie.

This poem had no real inspiration, just came tome while writing another poem for my Creative Writing class. The bleeding heart is not meant to be literal, it's the bleeding heart that always tries to help someone, but in this case that someone is always hurting the friend that tries to help.
