Mirage

My lips still moist from your kiss,

I don't want to leave.

Another second,

just one,

but I'm still not content.

Time cannot quench my thirst;

I starve when not in your presence.

This unending drought, eternal famine;

only cured when I'm with you,

but returned the moment I'm not

Heart always racing,

my thoughts focused on you.

You're always standing there

yet I can't touch.

Give forever

to have you appear,

I would;

but no conjuring can bring you.

You remain a mirage to me,

a figment of my imagination,

in a time of suffering and longing.

A ghost that time steals away.
